    Barring Muncy being a disaster and Bellinger having to move back to the IF, you gotta wonder if they can create enough ABs for Verdugo.

    • Rich Hill is dealing with a sore knee and is no longer able to start opening day.
    • Dennis Santana is stepping in for Tony Gonsolin to start today. No word on Gonsolin, but hope it is nothing more than being sick or something.

    Just change the logo from the flying baseball to a simple red cross.

    Sounds like Gonsolin is actually fine. They wanted to give Santana the start since he is on the 40 man and could be needed soon. Dustin May could be getting an extended look in the freeway series.

    By all accounts, he still has some issues with a couple of his breaking pitches. That alone is reason enough to keep him in MiLB for at least the first couple weeks of the season. The other reason is that we can survive with the healthy pitching we DO have on the 40 to not warrant calling up May and pissing away a year of control.

    • Julio Urias will start the season in the Dodgers rotation as will Ross Stripling.
    • Tony Gonsolin IS sick and he has also now been sent to MiLB camp.
    • Dennis Santana and Brock Sterwart are being considered for bullpen roles.
    • Alex Verdugo, Dylan Floro, Yimi Garcia and Caleb Ferguson have made the team.
    • Chris Sale and the Red Sox agreed on a 5 year extension.
    • The Astros are said to be in talks to extend both Justin Verlander and Gerrit Cole before the season starts. So the free agent market next year may be incredibly thin. The one to watch here will be Cole as he is represented by Scott Boras.
    • One of the few guys that was expected to make it to FA, Xander Bogaerts appears to have sustained a potentially bad shoulder injury today.
    • The A's lost starting first baseman Matt Olson for a potential extended period after surprise surgery this morning on his hand. This would be a huge loss for them.
    • The Braves are said to be talking to Craig Kimbrel, but not expected to be in the same neighborhood just yet on price.
