    Yes, indeed ...

... I'll always wonder what that post was. It'll forever be the greatest work of art so long as we never know what it really was...

This is from the comments section in the LAT re. the Kate Smith issue.

At this rate, we will have a lot less music, films, books and art to digest in the future. Many indiscretions have been committed by the artistic community that should be banished.

Whether it be Michael Jackson, Roman Polanski, or even the racially insensitive depictions of Stymie and Buckwheat in the Little Rascal comedies, and the German and Japanese bashing by the Three Stooges during WWII.

Ban them all. We can pretend that our past history never existed. That way we won’t have to learn from it, or understand the context in which it was created.

And why stop there? I’m sure someone must have said or done something a week ago that offends. What we need is a media/thought police force, scanning everything that has been said or created.

I would definitely start with banning George Orwell and Ray Bradbury, who had the unfortunate prescience and temerity to warn us that this might happen some day.

For those that wanted LAD to bring in Gio Gonzalez, predictably the Yanks have canned him. Any takers?

Anyone else planning on going to this MLB Foodfest? I'm a huge foodie and I have glorious cheat days on Sunday after following a meal plan all week. Needless to say, I will be there this Sunday.

Some of the items around the league look really intriguing.

I don't know about good, but all 3 of those guys could die in a plane crash and the answer should still be " pass. "

    confirmed... roberts is an idiot
    this is not a slump
on pace to lead the league in strikeouts again
    he had one goodcareer year
    .288/.354/.496/.850 in 2017
    .240/.312/.411/.723 the rest
2019 is not the aberration... 2017 was
time to send taylor down and bring up, say, dj peters
problem is the front office/roberts love these guys who play multiple positions -- regardless if they can't hit their weight

Roberts intends to give Taylor ample opportunities to emerge from slump

While the Los Angeles Dodgers have jumped out as one of the more impressive offensive teams to begin the 2019 season, not every position player on the 25-man roster can say they have contributed to that success.

One player who has struggled for the better part of April is utility man Chris Taylor. The 28-year-old hasn’t been able to replicate the production he enjoyed over the previous two seasons in which the Dodgers advanced to the World Series on both occasions.

Entering Friday, Taylor finds himself sporting a weak .161/.246/.242 batting line with two doubles, one home run and six RBI over 69 plate appearances (26 games).

Despite his season-long woes to this point, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts revealed that he isn’t currently considering removing Taylor from his platoon role in left field, per Ken Gurnick of MLB.com:

“It’s not nearly enough time for me to even broach that,” Roberts said. “Chris has done it for us for two years at this level. For me, he’s going to get more leash because I believe in the person. With C.T., he hasn’t been synced up in quite some time, going back to Spring Training. When you get into the season, you still have to give guys that you feel give you the best chance of winning each day. Where he’s going, there’s a balance of still trying to get him untracked.”

It’s not surprising that Roberts isn’t ready to give up on Taylor. He historically has provided players with every opportunity to emerge from a slump, and at times been rewarded for that faith.

As an effort to get him going at the plate, Roberts penciled Taylor in the starting lineup for all three games against the Chicago Cubs.

With left-handed starters on the mound throughout the series at Wrigley Field, Taylor recorded just one hit, had two RBI and four strikeouts in nine at-bats. Should his struggles linger into May, it wouldn’t be shocking if Alex Verdugo received more opportunities against southpaws, or even Joc Pederson for that matter despite his struggles against the same split.

I'll definitely keep you posted for sure.

I've been checking out some of the pictures people have been putting up on Instagram. Presentation looks pretty whatever, but we'll see how everything tastes.

Random, but I remember writing a couple lineups on a napkin prior to the 2012 season. One with Albert Pujols and one with Prince Fielder.
    Could you imagine?
What a disaster both of those guys turned out to be.

Was just looking at Pujols on baseball reference. He hasn't cracked an .800 OPS in 7 years. Useless with the glove, legs, etc. Wow. 2 more years, Halos.

Peters is down in Tulsa basically doing his Chris Taylor impersonation. Hasn't been good thus far..32 strikeouts to 6 walks and just bad numbers all the way around. But at least there's Verdugo.

Turner's a bigger problem than Taylor. We saw the cracks in Turner's defense in the 2nd half of last season and now he begins this season swinging a toothpick. He's had about 40 more plate appearances than Taylor, so his suckage has more mileage.

Starting to look like Lux could move into the IF and force Turner off 3B by 2020..but until then LAD goes down with the ship. Probably have to hope Seager storms back into MVP form. Another 25 games or so of this trash from Turner and there will be a legitimate sample size to go on.
