You know what worries me. We have a pretty good wealth of minor leaguers, but our current crop like Belli will soon be highly sought after FA's. I just think our window is now. This is not a 5 year plan.

The trade deadline will be interesting as the waiver wire is essentially dead.

He's just a more handsome Darvish, imo [homo rkacist].
Not a Halladay, Lee, Verlander, Scherzer type addition to the club.
He'll get "fixed" by Honeycutt, get the ball in a game 7... and give up 10 runs. I'm almost certain.
No data to back me up.
Just have a bad feeling about Noah.

Jake Diekman might be traded soon, we’re heavily linked to him. Weird stats: tons of Ks, high walks, not a good ERA. But great stuff. Throws 97 from the left side with a crazy slider. Definitely an upgrade over some of our guys and would be good enough as a LOOGY, but not our new set up guy or anything

These are Noah trade proposals from Dodgers Digest...

    Package 1

To NYM: Gavin Lux, Josiah Gray, Mitchell White
    To LA: Syndergaard

    Package 2

To NYM: Keibert Ruiz, Dustin May, Dennis Santana
    To LA: Syndergaard

    Package 3

To NYM: Ruiz, May, Jeter Downs, DJ Peters, Michael Grove
    To LA: Syndergaard, Diaz

    -------------------------------------

To me, this is SO STUPID!!!!! I would do package 2 or 3 for Felipe Vasquez easily. But Noah? No fucking way. Package 1 for Noah is a disgrace. That's a package you set up to get Scherzer (not that he's available) types...a pitcher who leads the NL in WAR. Not a 4.33 ERA with an ineffective slider/FB combo. People fall in love with the "stuff" and the stature of Noah but reality is he's not dominant to the level you trade top tier specs. No way. We need a sure thing. Not a gamble.

LAD fans are running onto the field to hug Belli and just fawning over him in general these days. He's not going anywhere. #Kastenattendancenumbers

But I agree that this is not a 5 year plan. It's a no year plan as long as Kershaw/Jansen are taking the ball with the season on the line

Hmm...sounds like a LH clone of Emmett Kelly. Let's absolutely get him then. We should have a matching bookends out there.
then we can argue over him duplicating Kelly's few good performances, and the rest of the year abominable ones.
But it won't be fair unless we pay him a huge salary.

    I like package #3.
The rest looks like a very high degree of fucktardiness rampant.

Seager and JT are showing a lot less power. It may be temporary but who knows.
Verdugo and Pollock are not power hitters either.
Kike is a power hitter in a weird way but he is best used sparingly.
Lux and Smith have the potential to be nice upgrades for the lineup.
They can hopefully solidify C and 2B down the stretch and for the playoffs but they would not be expected as sources of power.
It is Bellinger and Max Muncy. Which makes Joc a keeper unless you can get a set up man for him in a trade :D

    CF: Pollock
    3B: Turner
    RF: Bellinger
    SS: Seager
    1B: Muncy
    LF: Verdugo
    2B: Lux
    C : Smith
    DH/PH/UT: Joc/Freese/Taylor

Thats all you really need as long as the relievers hold up.

The reason I don't do 2 or 3 either is because those specs could be used to get someone else and I just do not believe in Noah at all.

I like package 3 because I'm not willing to depart with Lux or May. I get that Noah might not be having an outstanding year but I think this move would not only be for this year but for the next 2. Rich is a FA and so is Ryu although I think we re-sign him at a reasonable price. Diaz also has been bad this year but was great last year. Imagine a rotation in the playoffs of Ryu/Kersh and Noah with Buehler moving to the pen with Maeda. A gamble though you are correct but why not try something unusual to win a WS.

Interesting. I’d rather have Noah start a playoff game than Ryu if I’m being honest but that’s probably a minority opinion

    A) Racist
    B) Noah would be our 5th best starter if Hill was healthy, imo. Not necessarily talent wise, but inning for inning our other guys are better.

I think Syndergaard is gonna have a Gerrit Cole like run of dominance once he leaves the Mets. His peripherals are great as is his stuff, and he doesn’t allow homers. I’d take him 100% for a couple years for anything that isn’t Lux or Smith.

Not a Ruiz fan? Peters is looking mighty nifty in OKC. So long as the balls are juiced, may make sense to keep Peters around.

I mean, I like Thor's pure stuff and upside, potentially a Game 1 starter if given a new start elsewhere, so I'm not %100 against Ruiz going. But I don't want to load the Mets up with power hitters with upside either. Would hate to damn Peters to Mets' hell for our sake and his. Do I like the thought of Kershaw potentially not starting Game 1 or being the deciding factor..that I do.

I'm a big Peters fan but he isn't very versatile and on this Dodger era you need that so he's expendable. As for him coming back to haunt us I'm not too worried about the Mets for the foreseeable future. I'm just REALLY opposed to trading Lux and or May so I could be persuaded to lose Kiebert. Remember too that our depth is at catcher in our system.

You guys are swaying me a bit. I just saw Gavin Lux and Dustin May and my hell no sensors went off, because I feel like if we are to give up that tier of prospect, it should be for somebody else. Unfortunately we cannot make the Pirates play ball. Package 2 or 3 is reasonable. i just hope if they make a trade like that, Noah isnt a huge project.

should keep may unless it’s for a front of rotation starter or elite reliever
agree with @VRP that noah would experience a verlander type reincarnation— if he were traded anywhere else but here
    like @THINKBLUE said, he’s a paler darvish
but that’s just my bitter resentment speaking ... which, sadly, isn’t necessarily untrue
all these teams in the wild card hunt hurts action at the trade deadline
if anything mlb should have extended it to 8/15 or even 9/01
