    I'll be interested to find out if including Price is/was a way for the Dodgers to get to part with lesser pieces in a deal or not. If you read Boston journalists and many of the big guys, Price just needs a change of scenery, but should still be worth some solid prospects. If you read LA and a couple of different national guys, they think he is worthless and a sunk cost. I obviously side with the latter on this one and would only like to see him included if it lightens the prospect haul AND I don't want to hear JACK SHIT about tight funds in the next 3 years!

    And then he fell off while Mookie has been consistently that good since. And to be honest I’d gladly take Kris Bryant too.

    Betts has had a weird up and down fWAR, but it's not like he has been bad. It goes good (4.8), Fantastic (8.3), back to good (5.3), MVPish (10.4) and then back down to really good (6.6). So if I am doing this right, he should have something like a 12 fWAR this year.

    The problem with the trade is Price is expensive on the down side and Betts is a free agent rental who the Dodgers just won’t resign. The Dodgers under this ownership are tight with there money and spend it it on useless players with to high of a risk. Pollock was a stupid move This player has A long injury history with issues staying on field

    In the midst of all these numbers, main thing we gotta know is he's still just 27 years old, so that'd give us a superstar caliber player in his prime with a good floor and HOF ceiling. We currently only have 1 those, and one could make the argument that Belli's not even in his prime yet. Anyway, it feels like the more of those guys that you have, better chance you have @ winning the WS. Harper was that guy last year and they half-assed on the offer.

    It’s an easy choice, no Price.

    Wow, why take on bad money? We have a stocked minor league system with nowhere for half of them to go. Trade some high specs, and stop the bad money. We have a lot coming off the books over the next two years, it would be nice to clear the books for once so we can participate in free agency.

    I’m predicting that tomorrow we get to hear all about how the Padres have jumped back in the lead for Betts before he’s traded to the Rangers or some shit.

    Come on BM, the Dodgers are going to have to take back Price if Lux and May are not included. Yes the others are good enough to get the trade done but the Sox know they have us in check if the Pads are truly involved.

    If he loses he goes back to eBay.
    If he wins he maybe just made himself a career.
    Maybe he just placing a big bet on a hail mary to see if he guesses right.
    Big bets sometimes have a weird way of moving the odds in your favor as they draw eyes that move needles.

    I'm wondering if the Dodgers are speaking with Betts about an extension. That could be why the Dodgers are "holding up" the trade. It would be wise for them to have a shadow conversation with his reps before ironing out the specifics.
