    It's a shame that he ended up being such a douche. I mean, seriously, when you have so much going for you, and so much to risk, how difficult is it to just control your temper?

    The Dodgers put their faith in him when he was a pimply-faced teenager, made him wealthy, guided him through the system, turned him into a pitcher, declined numerous trade offers, treated him with kid gloves his first few years to protect his arm, and promoted him as the Latino face of the team-- a hero in the Latino community. All he had to do was be a good person and he would've finished his career as one of the all-time Dodger greats. Instead, he has his agent trying to pimp him back into the league, and if he gets lucky MAY get another chance but his situation will never be as good as it was, and he will have haters every time he takes the field. Oh well, at least we got 2020 out of it.

    who didn’t see this coming?
    • Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said that Max Muncy’s bone bruise will probably linger into next year, and it will just be something Muncy has to play through for the foreseeable future.

    Really surprising...I accepted Dave's initial report as gospel.
    Because I can recognize a truly truthful person at my age...

    The Dodgers are expected to pursue bullpen help at the trade deadline, according to The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal.

    The Dodgers have already been linked to the Minnesota Twins, who have multiple relievers who could be of interest to LA. Jhoan Duran (1.66 ERA in 43.1 innings), Griffin Jax (3.92 ERA in 41.1 innings) and Brock Stewart (2.45 ERA in 29.1 innings) could fill a major hole in the team’s bullpen, which ranks tied for 23rd in MLB with a 4.38 ERA.

    The Dodgers have also been linked to a blockbuster move for Cleveland Guardians closer Emmanuel Clase, who is having a “down year” with a 2.91 ERA and 20 saves in 43.1 innings. Last year, he had a 0.61 ERA with 47 saves over 74.1 innings.

    Other names linked to LA over the past couple months include Tampa Bay Rays right-hander Pete Fairbanks (2.75 ERA in 36 innings) and St. Louis Cardinals closer Ryan Helsley (3.27 ERA in 33 innings), among others.

    @TalkingFriars
    @sdutKevinAcee on the Padres trade deadline: "They don’t have a lot of money to commit. Nor do they have a lot of prospects or young major leaguers to trade."

    I'm pretty apprehensive about this. Sure, I'd love to get BP help considering that Scott and Yates are shit, and Phillips is done for the year and Kopech may be. But we all know how other teams expect more in prospects from LAD than they do from other trade partners. Just don't want to see another Josh Fields outcome. It's a tough situation for the FO because they want to win now, to maximize championships in Ohtani's prime and while Betts and Freeman are still producing (at least in theory). We all want that. But if some of these prospects pan out we could be set up for the future too.

    Haven't heard a Graterol update in a while... the last I heard was a post ASB return. If he comes back soon along with Treinen, and maybe we get lucky with Kopech returning late August... lot of ifs, I know but that could be some good wind in the sails for the BP.

    Keep in mind that Glass is back and Snell should be soon, and Ohtani keeps extending. With a full slate of starters and no BP games, the pen as a whole should become more effective.

    Of course the pessimist in me says we'll never be that healthy all at once.

    I have two comments with regards to today's Gnats game.

    1. Eleven hits, no runs? Ahahahahahahahaha!

    2. I want Kershaw to put off retirement as long as reasonable, but I trust he'll know when it's time and won't tarnish his legacy hanging on. Verlander (0-8, 4.99) obviously missed that boat.
