He's going from one of the softest markets in LA to one of the most unforgiving in Boston.

    Good luck, Red.

    this is Dustins farewell

“It was definitely a ride of emotions,” May said. “Like up and down. Definitely sad leaving because I’ve been there for my whole career, but definitely very, very excited to be joining this organization.”

May reportedly wasn't interested in a bullpen role. The move to Boston will give him a chance to play a significant role in the Red Sox's starting rotation.

“I was kind of pushed out, we had quite a few guys there in that organization,” May said. “Couldn't be more excited and thrilled to be here and be a part of it.”

well technically he was pushed out of the starting rotation due to more talented players returning to the team
i don't have a problem w what he said and he did acknowledge being sad
the man has a young family and this next few months are going to be crucial to his next payday
still a fan of the kid

Always give grace to the white players while ripping minorities like Urias.
This site needs better moderators to weed out alt right losers.

Wasn't a fan of his childish emotional outbursts, but he went through a lot to get back on the mound and take his turn regularly, unlike several of his more highly touted teammates. Hope he does well.

    eh fuck him
yeah he had to endure a lot
but it’s not like the dodgers didn’t stand behind him
    arm injury; unavoidable
ball off your forehead; put your glove up
    eating salad; well…
and yet he was still given the chance to start… and fail
glad he’s excited for his new opportunity
    but remember…
wherever you go, there you are
    good luck meat

One of my happiest moments as a Dodgers fan.

2017 team was so special and maybe my favorite team ever. I’ll never forgive Houston.

You think the Gnats fully grilled AB for intel before releasing him today? I feel that was the plan all along... they never intended to play him.

    Injury update......

    Sasaki set to throw
Right-hander Roki Sasaki is expected to throw the equivalent of three innings to hitters Friday and if that goes well, he could begin a minor-league rehab assignment next week. He has not pitched in nearly three months after going on the IL with a shoulder impingement.

    Edman goes on injured list
Utilityman Hyeseong Kim, out since July 29 with a shoulder issue, is swinging a bat and taking grounders. Roberts is optimistic Kim will be able to return soon. But another utility player, Tommy Edman, went on the IL with an ankle injury. With Kim, Edman and Kiké Hernández, another utility player, all out with injuries, Roberts has not had the usual versatility he has enjoyed in fielding a lineup.

don’t often agree with this guy
but he’s 100% spot on here

    @Howard_Cole
The Dodgers Mookie-to-shortstop decision set off a chain reaction, which resulted in the silly idea to play Teoscar in RF full-time, the awful Conforto signing & the failure to sign or trade for a shortstop. A quadruple whammy. Betts didn’t suddenly forget how to hit between age 31 & 32. He kicked his own ass trying to make a position switch from right to short WHICH NEVER HAPPENS!

    ^ more

    @Howard_Cole
And he’s not great defensively. He’s adequate. Shortstops across the league make plays every single day that Mookie couldn’t. Freddie has saved him a dozen errors.

    whole new ballgame

    maybe get Ice Cube involved
and market it to inner cities
to get blacks back back into baseball
get all the big name who can hit but cant run and defend anymore
jose canseco could probably still put on a show
but it would be nice to see guys after they retire come in just as hitters to entertain the crowds
or we could just bring back the negro league

here comes 28 yr old Justin Dean for his first major league call up

    Dodgers likely to select Dean
by Anthony Franco | MLB Trade Rumors — 7 August 2025

The Dodgers are likely to promote outfielder Justin Dean before tomorrow’s series opener with the Blue Jays, reports Dodger Daily. According to the MLB.com transaction tracker, L.A. optioned Esteury Ruiz to Triple-A Oklahoma City this evening. That’ll open the necessary active roster spot, but they’ll also need to make a 40-man move to select Dean’s contract.

It’d be the first major league call for the 28-year-old Dean. A product of Division II Lenoir-Rhyne University in North Carolina, Dean was a 17th-round pick by the Braves in 2018. He doesn’t have huge power in a 5’8″ frame, but he’s a plus runner who can play a good center field. Dean spent seven seasons in the Atlanta system without getting an MLB look. He qualified for minor league free agency last winter and signed a non-roster contract with the Dodgers.

Dean has spent the entire season at Triple-A Oklahoma City. He’s hitting .274/.370/.426 with six homers while stealing 25 bases in 32 attempts. The righty batter has taken walks at a strong 12% rate while striking out 23% of the time. He’s chasing fewer pitches outside the strike zone and making a lot more contact than he did last season in the Atlanta system. Dean has logged over 500 innings in center field and added 136 frames in right.

Ruiz had been the last position player on the roster as a speedster off the bench. Dean should provide a superior defensive option in a fifth outfielder role.
