Wildhorse 2.0? That's always a possibility. I just think/hope there are other prospects with more complete games that would take precedence over the next couple of years, but you never know. Hopefully he rakes at the big league level AND the other prospects force the Dodgers hand to trade him. That'd be a good thing.
i think BDK (tad too close to BTK every time i write that) said it needed to be a pitcher and a hitter. pitching seems fine to me and if the option exists to bring in two bats i'd prefer to see that happen. agree the Tibbs clock probably doesn't matter and playing the odds probably only JDP and Sirota should be a concern. anyone else that's hot right now should get the shot if a hot bat is of any value to winning a third WS. why should a clock even enter into the conversation when the chances are one out of 10 of these guys even sticks? all hands on deck and let's try to get a couple of hot bats up to hopefully fire up the old timers. as far as the player only meetings i hope a guy like JHey might slip inside and offer some insight. he is hanging around doing something right? have to believe he's there to inspire and do the things davey is supposed to be doing idk. so far all i've heard is these guys are getting paid a lot to do the jobs they aren't doing and lame warnings about it being time to start doing the job they all know they are supposed to be doing. its like someone could come in and he'd just let them take over it seems. do it JHey! where's the fire? let Chase pinch hit for a couple of weeks as manager. something ffs!
@SleeperDodgers · 12m The growing expectation is that James Tibbs III will get the most serious consideration for being called up, per @ByJackHarris.
@FoulTerritoryTV "I'd think that if [the Dodgers] don't get a bye, they're going to be pressed from the start of the playoffs." — @Ken_Rosenthal
De Paula has be added to the 40-man by this November, otherwise the Dodgers will lose him in the Rule 5 draft. Tibbs has another year. Does that change anything? Another good point that I read is that if there's a lockout next year, Tibbs can still play minor league games. If he gets added now, he wouldn't be able to.
if you don't know we're all in the dark here i believe. a lot of people talk like they know but then it turns out its all wrong. would seem if he's on the 40 he'd be eligible afaik. then again i was expecting like 7 guys to come up tomorrow until recently haha.
Great article in today's Athletic about Heyward mentoring of De Paula. Helping him with his outfield play and approach to the game.
Can never have enough mediocre bats @SleeperDodgers The Dodgers are calling up Alex Freeland as part of their September roster expansion, per @FabianArdaya https://x.com/sleeperdodgers/status/2094797680014975040?s=46
I can't believe the extent of their call up is Alex Freeland...logistically, he can play and free up Edman for CF, and not have to use Kike or Thomas. But what they will accomplish helping with that given the huge holes in offense is very questionable. Pages injury has completely destroyed offensive strategy, a mystery under Roberts from the get-go. But with less than mediocre Ohtani, Betts, Muncy, Tucker and ( let's face it) Teo, you'd think a strong bat would be foremost. Actually, although blasphemy to utter or even think, they could use a leadoff hitter who gets on once in a while. I mean not a 5 for 41 type of getting on. A little better than that. I imagine that HR blast Teo got will go way faaar for him, and I'm definitely not holding my breath that it was a sonic boom notifying MLB to his former raking. Nothing against him at all, a solid 2nd baseman...but I expected more than Alex Freeland. Only the Shadow knows...
this is one of the stupidest moves AF & co have made all that bravado talk from roberts about bringing up a LH bat to possibly platoon w/teo (of course) meant nothing tibbs, ward or even kim would have made more a lot more sense
I'm still thinking - but could be wrong - that Ward or Kim, since they're already on the 40-man, can be called up at any point and still be playoff eligible. I would've liked to see Tibbs though.
Any success has ever had under Roberts has happened despite him. He stole a base in 2004 & was tapped as MLB's DEI prince. He's a loser & yet he'll be LA's manager through this decade & he'll go to the Hall of Fame, too.
@Dodgers The Dodgers have acquired RHP Sebastian Rodriguez from the Blue Jays in exchange for RHP Jose Rodríguez.
so rodriguez for rodríguez don’t know anything about either one, but the jays probably win because of la tilde ‘
Wouldn't surprise me if that Teo HR on Sunday changed everything Endless failures followed by one good swing was all they needed to justify him keeping his role full time
Found this article, and it's funny that because Jose Rodriguez is such a common name, there was some confusion on whether he was in the Yankees or Dodgers system. Nevertheless, it sounds like the Dodgers Rodriguez was about to become Rule 5 eligible and with no room on the 40-man, he would've been exposed to getting claimed. So they basically swap a 25-year old reliever that they were likely to lose for a 20-year old project. I like it... maybe this turns into something in a few years. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2026/09/blue-jays-acquire-jose-rodriguez-from-dodgers.html
