The deceiving arrows you posted implied you were referring to the post directly above yours, which was my post. That is why I put the "?"

Truly bums me out hearing about this. I always think of him as Peter Pan in the movie Hook. And then I think of him as Popeye. Two childhood heroes of mine especially Peter Pan. I named my son Jack after his son in the movie. That name for some reason always resonated with me. RIP Robin.. the world lost a legend today. :sulk:

It's so difficult to think of Robin as gone forever, without choking up and welling in the eyes; it is for me anyway. Maybe it's because now, having walked down the truly sad road of life in recent times with very personal losses, it makes it a so all the more...I don't know.
All I know is when I used to hear for years, "and on tonight's show, our guest will be Robin Williams"...I stayed tune to that show, in anticipation of the laughs and comic genius most likely a short while away....didn't you?
It also bothers me me quite a bit to listen to the commentators say that what he did was a "supremely selfish act and left his family in deep pain, etc."
But , how can you apply rational thinking and reason to an irrational act like suicide?
As David Letterman said, who had a short but intense bout with clinical depression, "it's not like being down in the dumps...or having a hard time of it lately...it's an elevator ride, chemically, and you just can't get off . You're a prisoner of it, and you become desperate".
Obviously, Robin rode it all the way down.
Who knew what depths his pain reached? I don't think judjing him is constructive at all...only that the world will be not so funny and laughable without him.
    I'll truly miss him.
The scene in Dead Poets Society at the end, with the students all reciting passages from "O Captain, My Captain" on their desks, was movies at their best, IMO.
His fearful trip is indeed done.

I'm old, I always remember Mork & Mindy- and all I can say is "Shazbot". I liked "Patch Adams" which wasn't great, but I liked it. I will always remember him for stand up and improv-he was a fucking genius, albeit drug fueled. His classic bit on the origin of golf is hilarious.

My generation obviously remembers him more for Hook, Jimanji, Jack, Mrs. Doubtfire, and Aladin.

Pierce Brosnan: Your accent is a little muddled
Mrs. Doubtfire: Yeah, well so is your tan.
