I’m not sure what you mean by “she” sat on the dog that was being bitten on her legs. Are you saying that your wife sat on the helpless dog that was being attacked and so the Akita attacked your wife?

If that is what happened, what prompted your wife to sit on the dog? Was it because the dog she sat on instigated the attack or fight?

Either way, you need to judge for yourself whether the deal you have in place or the procedures you want to put in place is adequate. You may not get a second chance to save at least one of your dogs.

"she" is the wife and she was protecting the younger animal i guess
as i said earlier i doubt i'll ever know what exactly happened since the first thing she did was throw blame
i'm just looking for solutions but yeah one of the animals was at a disadvantage no question
i figure by at least doing the best i can to fully separate them in the short term i'm being responsible
that way a long term solution will hopefully present itself
ty for reminding me who's responsible here
only way you know that is from experience

On Thursday night the cats were getting up on a table and hissing at the dog outside the window.
Wife always freaks out thinking the dog will break the window and she starts yelling at it which make the cats even livelier.
I've explained to her that the dog is not the issue but her cat. My cat is cool but her cat lunges at the window trying to attack the dog.
Dog finally got too close and the window broke and the women all freaked.
Freaking out causes most of these issues.
Animals freak out if we don't show commandry.

Had an Akita when I was a teenager. Protected the family, guarded the house, and watched over my younger brother like he was her child. Greatest dog I ever owned, BUT she had a mean streak when it came to other animals. Not sure if both dogs are Akita's, but in my case it didn't matter. Other dogs, cats, or whatever, she would attack anytime they came near our property or any person in our family. Going to be a tough choice, but keeping both is a tragedy waiting to happen. Your wife is very lucky it wasn't worse than what you described considering these dogs were bred to hunt bear. Good luck...

Didn't know today was the day. I've got to share that one in the faculty lounge. I'll put the over/under on a "Trump should follow his example" rejoinder at six seconds, flat.

Why does Tiger Woods deserve the Model of Freedom award from Trump at the White House. Big fucking deal...he won a golf tournament.
I'm not saying the Masters is chopped liver as sports goes, but isn't this stretching it a bit...just a bit.
I admit,I don't give a fuck about Woods or golf ( I'm a Carlinist as that goes), but shouldn't it be reserved for a selfless deed or bravery to community instead of an additional sports glory, really ?
Fuck Trump on this dilution oft true, meaningful civilian accomplishment.
    Fuck Woods, too.

    Very off topic..

My son's first birthday was yesterday. We had a big party and it went well.

FYI for SoCal folks: I bought a pony keg of Pizza Port IPA out of San Clemente. Swami is the name. If you like IPAs, I recommend it...just polished off the last pint with leftover brisket sammies for lunch... which leads me to my second rec ...

I bought about 50 lb of brisket the other day and I priced the hell out of it everywhere. Believe me, it is easy to pay too much for that cut of beef. I got it down around $3.50# at Costco, and I almost pulled the trigger. But here's my suggestion...

On a whim, I went by Smart & Final first. Sometimes they give you a price break if you buy more than a certain weight. They're cut off was 50 lb, dropped from $3.39 # to $2.97#

What I learned was this - the five briskets they brought out were from the back. They had to put the store stamps on them that say First Street [which is their bargain brand]. I've heard people talk a lot of shit about their brand, and I suppose I thought I was taking a drop in quality over Costco. But when they brought the box out of the back, it was from Harris Ranch out of Fresno. I was pretty impressed, because I had priced Harris Ranch brisket at upwards of $6.50# just a few weeks ago, so I bought that as fast as I could at 2.97. I kept thinking it was an April Fool's joke or something.

Anyway I smoked all five briskets Friday and into Saturday, and they were a huge hit. I haven't smoked brisket in a long time but I guess I still know what I'm doing. Three of them I did on the Mesquite and I had addadded hickory chips hickory chips the last couple hours. The others I just slow smoked overnight on pure Mesquite at really low heat. I can always finish him off later if they're not cooked enough, between the char on the outside, and that buttery fat moisture inside, I got to say, at that price & that location, I highly recommend buying your brisket, or any other red meat that's says First Street on it, at Smart & Final.

We do big firsts for grownups. Subsequent ones are low end ... one-year-olds won't recall the change and throw it back in your face years later ... <says the guy who will regret that statement in years to come>

Reminds me of the old adage "you can beat their prices, but you can't beat their meat."
