A few things. It is very early in the season. For perspective, the Reds have the best record in baseball and Zach Lee looked like an ace in CO. The first month is always an anomaly. So before we decide to Sabotage the Dodgers' plane, let's look at it Yes. We are struggling to score runs. Yes. We are struggling to score runs with RISP. Yes. We struggle to hit LHP. The FO attempted to address 2/3 of these. With the acquisition of Forsythe and Guit, we were aligned to be able to compete against LHP. This has simply not come to fruition. I think that 80 percent of it is mental. Much like what I like to refer to as KIP syndrome. Think back to regular season starts where the offense died when kershaw was on mound. Why? Kershaw is pitching. Let's not go all out. Same concept with lefties. I can't believe I will hit lefities. Therefore, I won't. My question is--when do heads get removed from asses. When does this FO start cutting bait. It is obvious that lefty killers Kike and SVS are just taking up roster space at this point. I would even argue that Chase probably needs to be shifted to full time asst. manager that goes with the team. Agons struggles are more about age than they are about want to. We all get old. Thoughts?
it is early but never too early to improve the team kike and svs are essentially akin to having no rh options against lhp would rather have joc and toles in there tbh puig's value is likely about as high as it's going to get if you can get braun w/o bellinger, verdugo, alvarez, calhoun et al do it
I they they might like Calhoun. They have lots of OF/1B prospects. Edwin Rios may be nice to them too. Pitchers is what i think they may want.
This is what happens when you have SVS and Kike in your lineup, and have Puig hitting cleanup. The problem is with team selection. Not sure who's calling the shots but they are fucking clueless cocksuckers, and after a year or this LHP shit, I'm fucking sick of it.
i think it amplifies the problem when every left handed hitter not named Seager sits against a lh pitcher let the order play most everyday and get in a groove its like "oh no we can't do it panic" lineup i would wait on chase, shoot svs in the back of the head, give kike another month because OF/IF versatility i guess
The good news is we are at least getting men on base. Eventually some hits will come with RISP, no one is this bad. SVS and Kiké are whatever... they are the last men on the bench, if they are a big part of our problem then someone is giving them too many ABs. I don't mind if we shake up the bench, but it's not going to make a big difference. Joc and Adrian need to start against LHP. If we can get Braun for Puig+ a reasonable price, do it. I like Puig and hope all the best for him, an amazing talent, but situational hitting and adjusting for good pitching just isn't part of his game ATM. Other than that, we wait. The team is very close.
i don't get to watch every inning but i swear it seems at least once a game i see svs up failing when we need a big hit one spark like a segedin getting a hit in those situations can change the whole mojo seems like a small but obvious adjustment w a possible upside of seeing some of the ab's we think we need braun for
We need Braun not just for LHP. We need a right handed middle of the order bat who hits with volume, power, gets on base, etc. A damn hitter. No funny business. Goes up and hits the crap out of the ball no matter what. Braun can do that.
segedin reminds me of a guy named konerko we had for a quick minute why not give him a chance for a month? not like there is no downside w braun
So very true... can someone grab Farhan's ear the next time he walks by? Oh and No Segedin does NOT remind me of Konerko. At all. But he's leagues better than SVS
