I thought the card was boring overall but that is just me. Sucks about Edgar but he looked outmatched the entire fight

Really? I thought it had a bit of everything.

Pettis with a highlight head kick KO.
Boetsch with an improbable comeback win versus Okami
Underdog and old hunt with a upset KO
Old vets like Shields and Sexyama going at it.
Frankie and Bendo in an exciting close/technical fight

The Shields and Rampage fights weren't that exciting but they definitely weren't total yawners., but that slam by Rampage made me think of old pride(same as his entrance.

Overall, i thought this one of the best overall cards in terms of fight variety in a while.

Btw we have to wait until late April for the next good card. It's funny, they have a free one next week(alves kampman) Then it's about 6 weeks until the next free one(lil nog V gustaffson) and the nwe final get Jones Evans. Gonna be a long 6 weeks.

The next 2 are free cards and aren't that good.

I enjoyed the Boetsch fight a lot.

The akiyama and shields fight was just boring to me. So was the rampage fight. to each his own i guess

io was looking at the card for 145 and saw a lot of guys i dont know much about. you see any good fights besides the main event?

I thought those were the 2 worst fights for sure. Especially the Page one. I thought we'd at least see some good standup exchanges in that.

145 outside of the main event looks pretty week. They will probably move that Browne and Griggs fight to the main card. That may be a nice slugfest. I just say good card because of the main event. That's gonna be enough for me, but outside of that, looking at it, overall it's pretty weak.

Just looking at what they have on deck the next few months is interesting. Despite the influx of talent from the pride and now strikeforce the cards are actually not that strong overall.

The next big one is the JDS and Overeem card at 146, but the only other name worthy fight on there is Mayhem versus cb dolloway. Even the fox 3 card doesn't look all that great but maybe that's a good thing because the other ones with bigger names turned out to be duds.

The next overall outstanding card is probably not gonna be until July where Silva V Sonnen and Belfort V Wanderlei. I bet Aldo fights again on that card as well. Probably Werdum as well.

Yeah I cant wait to see spyder fight again against Sonnen. Hope he shuts that fucker up.

I also think 145 is gonna be weak, which bothers me since I just shelled out a ton of money to go, but you never know those guys dont have anything to prove maybe they stand there and trade blows for 15 minutes.

I just got done watching the event.

Burch how can you say that this was a boring event. Don't know if you watched the prelims, but if you add in the prelims to the main card this was a fantastic event. And even without the prelims the main card still had 3 finishes.

I feel you Page vs Bader was terrible. You could see that Page was badly out of shape for that fight. I assume that's why he came in overweight. Bader fought a safe fight and really got a great win, but he certainly didn't do it in exciting fashion.

    Pettis knockout was fantastic.

Hioki had a great performance against Palaszewsk that was one of my favorite fights of the night. Hioki is very underrated and is right up there in the 145 pound decision.

I mean what can you say about Tim Boetsch? Incredible comeback and heart breaking loss for Okami after dominating the entire fight.

Shields vs. Sexyama was weak, but it was still entertaining with the drama of the two fighters. Plus nice to see Shields win a fight, and really dominate a fight, where he wasn't able to get it to the ground at all. It was interesting though because Sexyama stuffed so many takedowns. I feel like that should be a big factor when deciding who won the fight.

Mark Hunt with a great performance. Kongo has been fighting poorly his last 2 fights now. Also Hunt will never beat a good wrestler, but he sure is exciting. Hunt vs. Barry next? Might make sense.

I thought Dana was silly saying Edgar won that fight. Henderson clearly won the fight IMO. Edgar should drop to 145.

I did not watch the prelims unfortunately I was picking a friend up from dairy queen and then we went to wal mart so I missed all of the prelims.

The Boetsch fight was the only fight that got me up out of my seat and yelling at the TV. That was a fantastic fight and a great comeback. Greatest comeback of all time like Rogan was saying? I dunno but it could be. Anderson Silva vs Sonnen was a better comeback because it was in a title fight and late into the 5th round but whatever.

The Kongo fight was meh. I expected more out of Kongo and he just got knocked the fuck out.

I agree that Edgar lost that fight and it was not even close. I saw a ton of people saying Edgar got robbed but he really didnt... He got dominated.

I dunno man to each his own I guess but I would have been pissed had i paid 55 bucks for it on PPV. I guess I cant complain since it was free.

So how long until they announce the Bendo v Pettis rematch? That will be a good fight.

And Frankie has been on borrowed time, living on pure heart for too long. Moving down to 145 does not improve his life as Aldo is just too good, too well rounded and too fast for Frankie. His time may be over...

And we're still waiting for an injury update on GSP before he fights Condit? Didn't White say that Condit's not fighting again until GSP is ready?

And Jones... I just can't see Rashad matching up well against Bones monster wingspan, much larger frame size, crazy speed and youth. No way even a hungry Evans goes the distance... Can't see it...

I stopped the streaming and just went to torrents. The quality on streamings has been getting worse lately and you can only watch it on a small area without the picture being scrambled.

The torrents are up a few hours after. It was great. Great quality and i got to fast forward through all the shitty crap.

Yeah what a fight. Ronda Rousey is the truth and will only continue to get better. She is a true rookie in most elements of mixed martial arts. Imagine this girl when she hits her prime in 3-5 years. Her judo is so amazing that it already makes her the best female fighter on the planet [ with Cyborg having done steroids and all that ]. Imagine how destructive she'll be once she becomes a better striker [ training with Antoni Hardonk, can't get much better training there ].

I don't know if women's mma is good enough to come over to the UFC, but they'll ride it out in Strikeforce as long as they can.

Yeah I signed on to reply to exactly this thread since I watched this fight this weekend... wow... Ronda Rousey is a stud!!

Look at her shoulders... she'll kick the shit out of nearly any feminine shaped female. And she's thick and ripped too. Why Tate didn't tap sooner is a testiment to her admirable heart and dedication and also proves that her health care must be current so that she can buy a new set of elbow tendons since this batch is now completely hosed. Hurt to watch. And recall that when the final move began Tate has Rousey about to apply an arm bar and Rousey simply bent over grabbed her own wrist and just out muscled Tate. It was not even close.

5 wins... all by arm bar...
I don't think that Sarah Kaufman stands a chance.

Ronda Rousey is just that much better... akin to Jon Jones... and she's only going to get stronger and more seasoned.

Her grappling skills are so ridiculous at this point that I can't see anyone taking her out unless they get her with a lucky KO punch

Ronda Rousey unloads in response to Twitter comments by Miesha Tate's boyfriend Bryan Caraway
Prior to last Saturday's bout with Miesha Tate for the Strikeforce Bantamweight Championship, Ronda Rousey took numerous shots at both Tate and her boyfriend, UFC featherweight Bryan Caraway. She made comments that she could compete with men in the sport, which led to this unfortunate response from Caraway on Twitter:

"If [Rousey] wants to challenge a man I'll knock her teeth [down] her throat [then] break her arm!"

That led to a lot of backlash, as well as Tate and Caraway trying to explain down the comments on Twitter. For Rousey, she doesn't think anything should come of it from a disciplinary standpoint, but she had more than a few choice words in response to Caraway in an interview with
    Ariel Helwani at MMAFighting.com.

"It's a free country, you can say whatever you want," Rousey said. "He's probably not that smart. I mean, what a way to make yourself look like a retard, to say women can't compete with men on the same level in any sport, and to say he wanted to knock my teeth down my throat. I don't think he needs to be reprimanded because I think anyone that saw that has reprimanded him enough. He's done enough harm on his own making himself look like an idiot that I don't think anyone else needs to step in."

"Of course I can [compete with him], dude. Who is he? You never heard of him if it wasn't for Miesha. He's just some dude. He's not even like a legit fighter. He's just some random guy that likes fighting."

Still, Rousey's happy to move beyond the tension that this fight brought about. The constant back and forth between herself and Tate's camp had her on edge through the fight, and she says she's now happy to get some rest.

"I've been not moving as much as possible," Rousey said. "It's just been so tiring not just physically but mentally. I just feel like I've been tense and holding my shoulders higher or something like that for months on end, and I finally just have just tons of relaxation and I really just don't want to move. So I'm very relaxed. It feels very relaxing to be champion."

Penick's Analysis: Regardless of the intent of his Tweet, it was a very stupid thing for Caraway to say. Rousey's completely downplaying who he is, and he's absolutely a legitimate fighter, but clearly in this worded feud, one turn deserves another here. And Rousey's right that Caraway's probably gotten plenty of negative reaction enough on Twitter to negate the need for any type of official reprimanding by the UFC. It's also good for Rousey to be able to take a load off her mind after getting this fight past her. The next bout she has with Sarah Kaufman will be much less personal than this fight ended up becoming, to say the least

This Caraway dude is attempting to macho defend his girl... against another girl... what a tool... And he's a featherweight? Exactly how many pounds separate Rousey and Caraway? Hmmm... you thinking what I'm thinking Borat?

Yeah they were talking about how she could beat up Tate's boyfriend and such and after seeing her fight I would probably believe it. That bitch is bad.
