    If you're a team with the Dodgers coming up on the schedule, whom do you hope lines up for you to face?

    Where are the Lynn, Paxton, Thor, Wood, McCarthy spots in the rotation?

    (I know, Sasaki hasn't proven anything yet. Still, based on the video of him pitching, I doubt many teams are looking forward to getting to face him.)

    Gotta feel a little bad for them. First of all, they're always the bridesmaid, never the bride. And now, they dealt for one of the worst contracts in the league in Myles Straw. They get to pay him for two years and who knows if they'll even play him.

    If you think about it, winning the sweepstakes saves them money, because they would've likely given Flaherty a one-year deal in the $15-20M range.

    So yeah, spend that savings on Kike and a reliever, and call it a day.

    It's doable, but it would require focus over 162 games, and I don't know that Roberts can spearhead that. But we'll see.

    This is way worse for the MLB than Shohei, Yamamoto, or even Snell of late. The same team that drains their wallet for the best players in your sport being the same team landing the cheapest superstar is a huge problem. If Manfred or MLB cared they’d step in. Feels calculated.

    First, perfect GIF.

    Second, what's he want , Manfred to go all David Stern blocking Chris Paul to the Lakers kind of stepping in? Yeah, that sounds fair.

    And again, if it's the Royals, Brewers, A's, etc making these claims, that's one thing. But unless this Padre fan was also calling for the commish to stop the Soto, Bogaerts, Machado, Darvish, Snell, Hader additions to Tatis, he should STFU.

    And lastly, Padres need to clean up their own house first before they can look at MLB. No player of significance who has other options is going to choose to play there until they settle their ownership issues. Just ask Frank and Jamie.
