Everything I read about Wentz, he sounds like the kind of guy who could be a franchise QB. All the physical tools: big, strong arm, fast. Smart. Played in a pro-style offense. Graded better at the combine than Mariota or Winston from last year, and both those guys are the real deal.

But then there's his biggest weakness: ginger.

    Soooo...

Nah, we've seen this happen before for notable/tested guys like Griffin, Hershel Walker, and Ricky Williams..not North Dakota State products like Wentz
This is a 1st, Wentz is literally coming outta nowhere here, brah, a super-project.
I'll give the Rams this much, they'll have multiple years to groom him ( he needs it because he's not their guy, not Week 1), the excitement of returning to the city will buy them a couple years from fans tho

Tennessee definitely took advantage of a down year for the QB position, pisses me off for sure that the Rams are basically helping the Titans rebuild with this foolishness
However, I would love for McKenzie to find a way to get one of the 2nd rounders Snead shitted away, there's gotta be a way Lol
This whole thing is just another sign of Kaepernick being a no-go, buuuuuum

I wasn't really commenting on whether or not Wentz will be a franchise QB, there are NFL scouts for that and I assume even the worst NFL scout is better at evaluating that than you or me. I was saying if he turns into a franchise QB then he will be well worth what they gave up. Also, the Rams have more talented depth than most .500 and below teams, so if there was a team that could afford to give up that kind of draft stock, it's the Rams. This isn't as reckless as it first appears. The Rams aren't in rebuild mode. They just need some polishing.

I get where you're coming from though, as a Raider fan you can't help but think QB + #1 overall = disaster :poke:

Yeah this.. I was thinking how bad must Kaepernick have the plague in that fucking Sanchez looks like a better choice for the Elway and the Broncos?

Elway is a smart mofo.. and we KNOW how bad Sanchez is soooooooo...

There MUST be something else about Kaep that we haven't yet heard

It's still questionable because of the varying levels of franchise QBs in today's game.
If he turns out to be a Joe Flacco caliber franchise QB, one that you can win with, but also one that's not very good, that can't carry a team, then no it wouldn't be worth it IMO.
That's a ton for an inconsistent game manager type.

Rams have talent, but they still need more than just a RB offensively, still questions at WR and on the O-line and at QB in a tough division, so whether they're rebuilding or not, very realistic chance they could be missing out on the playoffs again.
It's a " just because we have them to burn and think it's time, let's do it " type of play, but those picks have some real worth in a deep defensive draft...moving up for offense is OK for them, but for a project that can't help a team that has talent next year it's questionable.

It's the North Dakota State/Carson Wentz part, not the QB or #1
Couldn't the Rams have just gone to the local supermarket and grabbed a sacker, that's proven to be more effective for them :D

Broncos would rather run with Sanchez and the Rams would rather pull a 'Skins
Kaepernick is dreadful tho, much work to be done, lots of soul searching and shit before they can even start on the actual game of football.
That said, I still have hope for Kap/Broncos. :D

A fund raising hire from a few of my SC fans but who knows he's a Super Bowl legend with a lot more appeal than Haden. Of course as a Bruin fan I hope he is bad and if he is I wish him well, lol.

This is where we have a difference of opinions. I would consider a Flacco/Dalton/Tannehill level franchise QB worth it with how important QB is, and seeing teams without one struggling to fill the position in recent years. Seeing what Brock Osweiler got on the open market and the fact that we are even talking about Kaepernick having trade value... a mid level franchise QB is worth what Los Angeles gave up IMO. It's not what you aim for, but projecting anyone above that level is almost impossible and the guys who are slam-dunk sure bets are a decade apart.

We'll have to agree to disagree. I'm not even a Rams fan.

Flacco ( Dalton, Tannehill) are usually ranked in the bottom half of the league statistically, however, all 3 were also rookie starters.
And with Wentz more than likely going to sit his 1st year, the comparison isn't really A1, but that's the comparison he's been getting thus far and again those guys don't normally grade out well/aren't impressive.
But yeah it's just silly to me to see all that draft comp go without any immediate production coming in, especially for a team that's trying to finally get over the hump and finish ahead of Seahawks and Cards for once.
And for a guy with a meh ceiling.
What Osweiler got is one thing, but all that draft compensation going to TEN is another, the AFC south is picking up steam slowly, don't like that part of it either.
Of course I'm not a Rams guy either, so I don't get a chance to talk about them much outside of relocation talk.

But right on time is the 2016 NFL schedule release along with some predictions

Raiders @ 10-6, yeah it's 10 wins or bust for 16/17, playoffs in Vegas in 18

Don't agree with Baltimore's prediction either, 1st Flacco's not good, 2nd he's coming off an ACL, 3rd they have no LT
    ESPN always jerks the ratbirds

3 prime time games for the Raiders
Schedule stacking the deck with road games early for the Raiders, gonna test their road mettle early.
Good, hopefully they'll be ready for that Week 10 game in Mexico City

It's much more to do with the lack of help in front of Quick.

Too many turnovers, penalties and defensive breakdowns in front of him. Kings were lucky the game was that close.

Kings offense has stunk, honestly we lucked into 3 goals last game and have stunk again tonight. Almost no quality chances

This is not good for the Kings. The defense has suffered. But the only silver lining I see is that the Sharks have actually sucked at home. So maybe there is hope we get it tied in the Shark Tank.

Saw last night's game in person.

Been pretty evident the Sharks are the better teams in the first two games. Sharks' best (Burns, Pavelski and Thornton) have been better than the Kings' best (Doughty, Kopitar and Carter).

Kings haven't put any heat on Jones. He's had a good year, but he's untested as a playoff goalie.

    He still hasn't been tested.
