The talk is that a lease would be set up where the owner of the stadium will pay $14 million a year to use the parking lot. All money made from parking would go to the owner of the stadium, not McCourt. So whether $0 or $1 billion dollars are made from parking, McCourt would just get the flat $14 million.
Kinda funny that Torre was working for Pud a couple of months ago and now he's giving him a major cornholing. I think more of Joe now than I did when he was "managing" the Dodgers. Good to see Trace get that multi-year extension with the Rox this week, much-deserved.
Thanks Chris. Too bad he got "collected" right at the end, but otherwise a nice race. Now after we get past the bump-drafting circus this weekend, Boogity Boogity Boogity! Do you know if Casey Kahne is full-time in the Hendrick 5 car this year? Gary
hell yeah looking forward to it. I believe he is, not sure though. I just want Gordon and Johnson to do well haha
He should be forced to sell the lots. What kind a fucking pos group wouldn't want the parking lots? This asshole would probably charge $30 for parking. Fuck you MLB for ever letting this jizz mopper ever become the owner.
Yup! @ 14 million per year. It is not just part of the sale agreement it is part of the ticket sale loan agreement that is not being repaid and the holder of that loan rules. McCourt borrowed against ticket sales and that was part of the loan agreement. McScuzzball knew what he was doing back then.
http://www.ft.com/cms/s/2/a656794a-a968-11e0-bcc2-00144feabdc0.html#axzz1nIt6F45b This as previously noted has always been hanging over the sale process.
McCourt has a buyer and plan in mind that makes money for him. Dodger fans are only a necessary component of it all. As part of the agreement to sell MLB has already conceded the parking lot etc to Frank so even if the sale fell through and MLB inherited the team they still would not own the parking lots etc and would have to pay Frank rent for 20 years and watch him develop the land around the stadium. Is Frank really trying to drive the price out or is he trying to drive competitors out who might be more favorably looked upon by MLB as being a final five candidate. Look how the previous favorities are dropping out thus lowering the floor to get in the final five.
this is the sad truth i'm guessing cohen -- with perhaps the deepest pockets -- is the favorite plus mccourt probably looks up to him for deceiving his ex-wife
You might be right. Cohen and Blackstone have probably had a few NY city lunches together so who knows what has been concocted. http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/dodgers/2012/02/dodgers-bidders-should-withdraw.html This link and the above quote are classic reasons how and why the LA press has screwed up their coverage of this and misled Dodger fans along the way. How can something so successful be called desperate at this point of the process?
The owner of the Rams and Frank seem to be moving in a similar path and Frank could become part owner of the Rams.
I am guessing because he owns the lots, he can charge what he likes. He will be making money hand over fist.
Groups are dropping out because Blackstone is trying to squeeze the price up and they are saying no. It is part of their process which is to max sale price and NOT to find us the best possible new owner.
