Good outing by Maeda in back-to-back starts. Was it against crap teams? Yup. Do I care? Nope. Sometimes you need these types of games against these types of teams to get some confidence back.
October, mate...I wait with baited breath for the new season after 5 years Curbless. Even though no luscious Cheryl Hines. Could be epic October...a new Curb, and the Dodgers in the WS...whoa! The TV program is definite...the Dodgers...definite maybe.
Wow...going through my shit, and found a Fernando and Pedro Guerrero Starting Lineup figures MOC. Probably worth up to $4.00 apiece...!
Don't understand your comparison. Puig was a beast from 2013-2014 offensively and has a two plus season sample size of being inconsistent and incompetent at the plate. Maeda was a good pitcher last year, and was written off after a tough April. Yes, he had a poor September and October, but he came back with good stuff this year. Just bad results. I get the criticisms of Maeda. He doesn't go deep into games and all that. But his contract is favorable and inning for inning he's been very good. I criticize Puig good or bad. Because I believe his offensive successes since 2015 are smoke and mirrors. His plate discipline is much better lately but his swing has been a mess for a long time. So when he does something, I don't get all excited. It's just not sustainable. He looks terrible up there. Stands far off the plate, sticks his but towards the dugout, drifts towards third base, and swats at the ball.
Done. I hate the All Star game, but I gotta give Cody some love. I had to do write-ins for Cody and Chris Taylor, but Adrian and Ethier are on the ballot
There's many layers to the Maeda onion. He holds himself to high enough standards to make the MLB but joined a team with another Korean starter so he HAS to outperform Ryu to have any perceived esteem and its tenuous so far this year Maeda with a 5.03 ERA; 3W2L; 39IP; 40K; 1.17 WHIP Ryu with a 4.05 ERA; 1W4L; 26IP; 29K; 1.31 WHIP My knowledge of Asian customs tells me that this is way powerful incentive for both of them. Good. Maeda did lead the team in almost every category last year and he can't be happy with the early season results. Davey still should have pulled him after 8. hindsight is 20/20 Maeda no doubt pressured for the complete game oh well, shit happens
if cody keeps up the pace he'll get picked as a reserve but no way he gets voted in as a starter i love my fellow fans but they're just not as rabid/committed to voting as the ballot box stuffers in other cities also we don't get the [misplaced] love on espn and mlb network
You have to know that MLB already wants CB in the home run derby It's just what comes with being a beast And just like Seager, he'll probably be great in it
Dave was obviously thinking that we are going into Colorado for a 4 game series and any chance that we can save the pen was worth a try. No harm no foul.
I brought it down to bare essentials really...if you're good, if not, etc. What's not to understand? Pretty simple. Or maybe it only works if you like the guy, or don't like the guy. Sort of like saying " weak hits" as if that's all he has given up. I guess those 8 home runs were all weak bits, too? Lol. C'mon man, he gave up four HRs in one game...that blows big time, every time. Even if you have a good game like last night, and the game before...or whatever you did last year. I'm glad he's getting it back, absolutely, but if you 'get' the FO, and he was on the bubble, then they were worried too, no? Anyway, long may he wave, but if we make the post, don't think it will be against the Pirate lineup. But hope he can go against anybody by then. Any team. I watched every game so far, and I saw something other than just a multitude of weakass hits off him. He gave up 20 HRs last year, 8 so far this year by May, so do the math.
I get what your saying BZ They're streaky. When hot they're red hot, when cool ice freezes upon them. no middle ground lightning or mud
