If I root for the Lakers for 30 years and then one year they somehow don't make the playoffs (it 'could' happen) and somehow the stars align and the Clippers make it in does that mean I can't root for the Clippers? Bullshit. When the Lakers are alive I root for the Lakers but if they are not playing then I can watch with bemusement as LA's other team plays. Do I hate them like I do the Giants? Or Yankees? Or Red Sox? No. The Angels have always been the poor red headed step child that couldn't win anything compared to the elite Dodger organization... who would have guessed that a full decade ago they put together a wild card run and took home rings? Well good for them. The megopolis of Los Angeles is big enough to support two MLB teams... Meanwhile Ned single handedly ships any Dodger with talent to the fucking Giants and McCrook spends his days looting the Dodger coffers while completely ignoring the teams needs? Fuck Frank and Ned... but I still pull for the Dodgers... Let the spewage begin...
Fuck rooting for each city's team because you feel obligated too. I HATE the Lakers and but I love the Dodgers. I'm from AZ and it doesn't put a smile on my far when they win just because I'm from AZ.
I dont really consider someone who roots for both the Angels and Dodgers a true Dodger fan. Rivalry is too real to root for both.
I always cheer for WHOEVER plays against those who purchase titles... Almost like I cheer for whoever is playing against the univeristy of spoiled children...
So what the Angels did this offseason and what the Dodgers are going to do next offseason are not considered "purchasing" a championship?
