And what is with thinking that the NY Times and Washington Post are not real journalists? Ok they lean progressive towards the interests of humanity but they also employ broad reporting sources and it's petty that the alt-Right (you @huh? ??) try to assert anything they MSM report is false. So what did you learn from this? Like so many, including @rube I also can relate personally to instances of racist violence. I attended Southmoor Jr High with a student body of ~1300 blacks with 4 whites, of which I was was the smallest and skinniest. I didn't get jumped by the by the black boys because the black girls got to me first. Every day. Beat down to the ground between a group of 6 or 8 220lb+ girls bouncing me around like a pinball, my pockets stripped for lunch money, daily. I became a cross country runner by learning to run home the exact second the bell rang. and the next day it began again. I'd be in line for lunch on rare days I could avoid the girls and make it to class and there would be so many 'front cuts' that they ran out of food. Routinely. One old cashier felt bad after seeing me denied so many times that she took to keeping a chocolate milk for me even if there was no food. Making it better I was ALWAYS graded harder than my classmates. The teachers said I had 'advantages'. Right. Family of 5 in an apartment has advantages. Umm OK.

Reverse discrimination is real too. Grading college entrance on skin color instead of merit is bull too.

Racism is totally fecking real. It seems you experienced it and yet failed to learn.

When in Rome do as the Romans.
When in the hood, don't be white. Especially an uppity 'privilaged' white who thinks it's their hood.
When in the REST OF AMERICA, don't be black.

Can we grasp White Privilage yet?

I moved from away from Southmoor into a more rural town that had 80% whites and 20% blacks and the whites treated the blacks waaaaaaaay nicer. So did I. But again that comes from my own grasp of white privilage and not wanting these students to be treated as shitty as I was. Some learn the Golden Rule early, some don't learn it at at all.

Later when my po' white divorced ma could only do what she could we lived in the projects. Now it was back to 60% black and 40% whites but by then you knew where you were. You minded your shit. You didn't mouth off about people having it better. No one had it better. You were living in the projects fool. Learn to play basketball because that is where all the "Oso's" were. (thanks @rube), you prove your mettle there and you got accepted. As much as any honky in the hood ever does. When running in the hood one lives by the rules of the hood. See above.

I was later fortunate enough to go to high school in Montebello at a school that was 33% white, 33% latino and 33% Asian. It was a level place. Learning got done. It was NOT violent because there was enough distribution that the cholos could have their space, the nerdy Asian's crushed the bell curves and the whites... occupied smokers alley. Yeah in those days schools permitted smoking on campus. I'm old.

Summing it up? Like I said when in Rome... and since the USA is still primarily white its OK to admit that we whites like dealing with other whites. Racism repeatedly gets proven to have a genetic element, again. Therefore 'white privilage is totally real. As is Black Privilage in the hood. Every day. In vast areas of America whites dominate and make anyone non-white feel like a lesser American. Every day. Travel, see what I've seen. Even in south FL where not speaking espanol causes hardship, even in much of SoCal where pockets of humans favor themselves. Go to a locals Garden Grove restaurant and expect to need to speak Viet or Thai to order your food. Monterey Park is now referred to as Mandarin Park. And any dense urban center trends blacker. It is what it is.

If you return to Compton or Watts, or Prospect Park in NY, you best expect to accord yourself in a manner suitable to the locals. Don't go there expecting your suburbs born white privilage to cover you. It won't. And you should know better.

Now about white privilage not existing again...?

 

You know actually they do. Though our media stifles their voices in general. Except for your obvious examples of media whores Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson whom many blacks find to be distasteful liars even if their hearts are in the right place.. i.e. black cause. At least those blacks I know dislike both men. Note: I'm not querying the hood, your results may vary. My buddy hates Al Sharpton as much as I hate Gloria Allred, LOL.

Slinging hash is a delight but more fun is presenting data. Data point 1 = Whites dominate, by population, far more cities than any other race in America. Fact 1.

Fact 2 - EVERY race favors itself over others. I'm not wasting time digging up beaucoup sources for you to dispute but by now it's common knowledge that we all favor those looking like ourselves. You as an educator aren't really disputing this element... are you?

Thus Fact 1 and Fact 2 present that ALL American's are racist to at least a limited degree. Maybe @THINKBLUE a bit more. (But he married an illegal so we're on his side trying to figure out how the corrupt GOP and the ever-so-slightly less corrupt DNC will EVER find a way to permit his wife her citizenship) But, while wishing the best of newly-wedded bliss for @THINKBLUE, I digress.

why is it that every other group outside of whites in this country don't have a similar problem?

college educated guys w good jobs and dreams of big business talking about how the world is against them

Umm you missed the memo, whites are already self selecting to do exactly this. And we have been for 15-20 years. How many kids did you have. How many kids did I have? The birth rates for non-whites has grown much larger than for whites (Utah data is the obvious outlier)

I too have my faith ... which has absolutely nothing to do with Facts. In fact being raised Catholic I'm likely hampered still by latent non-facts presented by the Church in my youth. So what? What does faith have to do with anything??... before @rube gets started.

I assert #1 America still has more whites than any other race, particularly clustered in larger cities but even more so spread throughout the smaller towns of America. Outliers aside.

I assert #2 that science has repeatedly demonstrated that humans are racist. Blacks like blacks just like Latinos prefer Latinos just like whites prefer hanging with whites or Thai's prefer Thai's. Science. No Left spin, no Right spin. Just data. Not one study but all of the peer reviewed balanced scientific studies. I know because I have other friends arguing until the cows come home on this topic.

But to address your earlier point it appears TO MY OBSERVATION that MSM does coddle / reinforce Black Privilage as blacks still are the only ones claiming "don't you whites call us "N" names but we're going to call each other that name every single day, every single time we meet each other. Hypocrites much? Piss and moan but don't step up?? The white Jewish liberal media (ABC, CBS, NBC...) also promotes every possible victimization angle while Faux News prefers to fan the racist hate every day with stories of blacks harming whites but never any stories of whites (cops?) harming blacks.

So then we get weak wristed lefties apologizing for acts of 200 years ago and not holding the black community responsible for its own behaviors (what fathers?, we only call them baby daddies). Sort of like constant droning on by Muslims that they are a "religion of peace" and yet they cannot control their uber violent cousins. Do you understand the notion of white privilege? I only mentioned black people because they are the most disproportionately affected group by both social, structural, and systemic issues.
Of course all other persons of color face disadvantages as well, that is no question.
And I'm afraid it's not that simple Irish.
