I don't really know if you are referring to Israel handling it themselves is tactical or strategic in meaning, but the real deal, if the faciliries needed to be 'bunker busted" to be nullified, the Israelis could not handle it. They do not manufacture the bomb, and have no aircraft capable of dropping it, nor does anyone else in the world.
So, if those facilities needed to be definitely be 86d, we had to do it.

The thing I wonder about is this - could Iran successfully launch & hit anything with their nukes? Seriously... they may talk big but 90% of nuke warfare is getting it off the ground & hitting the target.

Supposedly they have the capability of reaching Germany and any country which geographically lies equal to that perimeter in any direction. Consequently, an American bases in the Middle East are theoretically a potential target.
Israeli a/c and the "Iron Dome" anti-missle systems have a good deterrent kill ratio, but inevitably, some get through.

Here in the Bluegrass, folks are prepped for terror at the conventional level: gunmen going at churches, schools, public events, etc.

The Michigan church guy yesterday is typical of how we are ready here. At our church, I know half a dozen men who carry at Mass. No kidding. I've done it as well. It's common. Kroger, WalMart, on the street ... most men here are ready for anything. It's very peaceful here but among the 20 million illegals who entered this nation under Biden, hundreds & hundreds of them are in Louisville & Lexington. I've seen them. They're easy to spot.

Anyway ... it can happen here. And while ICBMs are always possible... we are ready for a different type of terror.
