I have a niche fascination with legacy media behavior I guess. Sportsnet LA didnt show the visit at all and in the brief mention of the DC trip on the pre-game show, they only showed a photo with Adam Schiff.

I read the OC Register yesterday and Bill Plunkett's article about the visit was pathetic. Subtle digs throughout the whole thing. He cherry picked moments like DT not knowing Kershaw had retired while omitting his detailed recollection of several plays throughout the series. He left out the fun exchange with Freddie Freeman about the Braves letting him leave.
Anything that could potentially show he knows baseball or got legitimate laughs was not included.
No mention of how the players loved it.
No photos from inside the Oval Office with individual players.
If you read this article, you'd think the Dodgers were dragged there, and it was simply a formality.

Sportsnet LA is worse though. Not a single photo or clip of the event. It was like watching them try to hide something. I could see the hatred in John Hartung's eyes as he made mention of the "white house" and the satisfaction he felt when he refused to even say "the president" let alone "Trump". They erased him from the event. 1984 level stuff that gives me the creeps.

In what universe is an iconic picture with Ohtani and the president in the oval office not featured when he comes to the plate for his first AB?

Maybe my disgust is irrational, but I just cannot help but notice these things and it's a constant reminder how fake and manipulative the media is.

 

I think he needs to just ignore these people and not bother doing events like this.
There is too much legit hatred between the parties involved to have a roast. Everyone just comes off mean, including him.
I appreciate the zingers that come organically instead of scripted insults.
And trust me, I think he's hysterical.

 

People cant make jokes about things they hate.
I mean they can... but then they come off as bitter.
Even if its funny in the moment... its based on bitterness.
Just because something gets a laugh doesnt mean its good.
Often comedy is there to add sugar and color to the bitter truth.
And if that truth is hatred it isnt gonna go down any better.

Bitterness aka being a bad sport is why we actually dislike things like Islam and the way the left does business.
The bitterness economy is about vengeance, fairness, and justice... but all of those are euphemisms for revenge.
And our humanity intrinsically dislikes this.
But we are all suckers for it one way or another.

Revenge is a very strong motivator and so it is why the cain and abel cycle is about the cycle of cannibalism.
Jesus didnt seek revenge. That is what his people wanted from him though.
Instead he did exactly what being the unique one of the unique one.
He did the most unique thing that only the unique one that made him had done before.

You think Jesus could not fight back, that he could not get his revenge?
Even if in anger it passed through his mind and he turned the tables on them... it was not what was in his heart.
It was not what he wished.
Forgiveness is a gift given before the transgression has even occurred.
That is why its starts with for as in -before you even did the bad deed it was already forgiven- by the person who loves you.

Well what if God takes his revenge for Jesus?
But then what is the ultimate revenge God could even make?
It would have to be unique.
Like God himself.

So as to not be revenge, not be fair, not be vengeance, but yes be justified and set things right.

Other than death the worst punishment for regicide is banishment from the kingdom.
Well there is one worse punishment.
When the town itself is guilty of regicide then there is nowhere else to go.
