if we trade AGon and don't come away with Victor Martinez via free agency to play 1B, that'd be disappointing

I find it funny that Donnie Dumb Fuck chose to bench him in a monster playoff game instead of mid September.

    Fuck him.

the way i see it, the Dodgers might be gathering a market for Puig for something bigger. their interest in Stanton is real and Logan White ( interestingly enough) did a lot of talking with a few of Miami's scouts on subject of Stanton's availability earlier this year. if Puig is a commodity in Miami's eyes ( likely), sitting him on the trade block and having other teams in the mix for him would only help LAD's leverage.

so it wouldn't shock me if this were true. i mean there should be a big shake up within the culture of our team if we ever wanna be able to land a real manager. think about it like this..would Buck Showalter like managing Puig? and don't get me wrong because i love Puig..but i don't have to manage him either. Lol let's keep it real.

Said it when I saw he benched him. And I still feel the same. He did it so that he could have a scapegoat. Bozo is not as smart as he thinks he is

Ned sat back at the deadline back-to-back years twiddling his thumbs and look what happened in October both years. This organization needs change.

I'm always for improving our team, but suggesting we need to blow up this team because of this past series vs the Cardinals would be an overreaction. There was a good amount of luck involved in the Cardinals winning.

I read the original report was rumored to have a typo in it's headline, and then ravenous, have-nothing-to-write-about-now LA Dodger sports beat hacks just went wild making up scenarios.
I was supposed to be "Puig Is Going Shopping" (on Rodeo Drive, etc. and some of the exotic car dealers for a new, faster ride).
    Understandable mistake...

Wouldn't surprise me if we end up dealing him tbh. For the right return, of course. In a perfect world we trade Ethier and/or Crawford. But their value is non-existent.

Only way I see them trading Puig is if it's in some monster deal (Giancarlo). He's just so valuable right now when considering his talent level and affordable contract.

and if Friedman plays his cards right, there's a decent shot that it could happen.

there are so many different ways he could go with this team, but i can see it now..a lot of Dodger fans are gonna freak out if ( outside of a monster Stanton/Puig swap) Friedman makes a couple other trades that appear to make us look like a team that's shooting to be great in 2016 ( and well beyond 2016) rather than loading up with this same cast for an all-out 2015 push for a title. you look at the value of our controlled vets not named Puig and Kershaw..Friedman could get quality MLB ready players and/or prospects for all of them. he may have to package a little extra cash here or there, but Kemp's rebuilt a lot of his value, AGon has value, Crawford has value, Dee has value..hell, even Uribe has value coming off a good year at the plate with 1 season left on his deal. Friedman is set up pretty well. shit, i wonder what Ryu would fetch with the generous contract that he's on and his performance. not to say that i want Friedman to just blow it all to pieces, but a couple surprise splashes that have ripple effects might do us some good down the road and speed up the change in culture..it might also set Mattingly up to fail next year and that may not be bad for the long term success of the team either.

I can't help wondering though...being a doom and gloom aficionado...whatever trading/buying/moves we make to the team, and how exceedingly good we become, how are we going to address the Kershaw in the post season thing, should we get there again? All the moves in the world won't deal with that thing..

    Get a bullpen.
6 solid innings in the playoffs is about the best most teams get even from their ace. When your only 7th inning option is to bring in the closer (DSPs most viable option from other threads) you're simply fucked.

People forget that through six innings in game one Kershaw had flat outpitched Wainwright. Difference was Adam had been pulled by then and Clayton hadn't. Had DBB not sent him out for the seventh and the bull pen still blew up we would not be bashing CK but DBB for having pulled him.

no doubt. we got 12 quality innings from Kershaw in 2 starts..that should be enough for 2 wins. especially when you consider that the Dodgers had the highest payroll of all time..considering that, there's no way they shouldn't be able to pull their ace after the 6th inning, or when he gets into a jam later in the game and hold on. the fact that we went into the playoffs feeling like Kershaw ABSOLUTELY HAD to get through 8 innings every time out is pathetic. i said before the series that our starter's had to have the most pressure on the NL side just because we had no bridge to Kenley..never wanna feel like that again.
