    We only have 2 million or so to work with to stay under the luxury tax. We aren't getting anyone noteworthy without dumping a contract.

    That too, but admittedly, going up there and having his ass handed to him by a lefty isn't going to help the team any that day. Guys just have to get better. Where's the shame of the opposition sending a lefty to the hill, leaving your manager with no choice, but to replace you in the lineup or drop you to the 8 hole? Even more annoying when it happens in the postseason, when we need guys most. An Ethier not starting in the post season against a Steven Matz..WTF is that? Be better.

    I mean, I get the value of having a guy that can just handle RHP all season and build quality production that way, but where does it ultimately leave us in OCT? A Wood or Hill caliber guy, or even lower level lefties, could make Joc/Puig take a seat in the fall. Fingers crossed that Verdugo will eventually be a reliable, complete hitter/everyday player as opposed to one of the many platoon guys.

    Most Mexicans are Spanish, Russian and Indian lol.
    Mexicans love Charles Bronson because he looks like one of us.
    The pacific coast of north america was littered with Russians mixing with the Indians.
    Spanish, French, and Germans arrived in Mexico from the atlantic.
    Ted Williams was fully Mexican though, culturally. It was just too much heat for him to carry at the time.
    His mom was Mexican and for most people you are what your mom is because that is where you come out of, your mom.
    And she spent a lot of her time south of the border doing missionary work to the people in TJ.
    I read an article where 20 something of his family came to see him the first time he played in front of his hometown san diego.
    When he saw them waiting for him after the game he sneaked out another way and shunned them for the rest of his life.
    Probably why he pushed hard to help negro league players later on. Guilt is a powerful motivator.

    That was not what i meant.
    Meaning is not in the words but in the person.
    The code I use is your own language, history, and culture.
    Whenever you misunderstand something it is not because I am an occultist spelling in invisible ink or making shit up.
    It is more likely that you don't have the information required to understand the reference.
    Which is no longer valid in the age of instant search.
    The reason why we are in the age of memetics is that nobody has to learn this over time by cultural osmosis.
    Millenials have all the information at their fingertips which is why now everything gets memed.
    It's almost impossible to forget a meme.

    And as some of us complain about these guys and their sad platoon splits..I can't help, but think back to lefty Rizzo taking Kershaw on an incredible ride to Mars in the postseason. Of course, lefties Matt Adams and Matt Carpenter have sent Kershaw to his room as well.

    All this sadness..gonna watch some preseason football later, have a few brews and try to forget all this shit.
