Eovaldi back to the Sox is a good deal for them but we went through the ups and downs of Nathan. He could blow out his arm at any time and this board would go nuts that we committed 4 years. What are you're thoughts on Ottavino? No more Goldy for 19 games a year now that is already a good start on the off-season lol. CANNOT wait until the 9th and the opening of the meetings!

The deal I wanna see happen is Kluber or Carrasco for Stripling, Puig and Will Smith. I think that helps both teams and we add an ace for guys we probably squeeze out anyway

I have to think that deal includes Verdugo or it never gets anywhere close to done. The whole point in dealing a starter is for the Indians to get a controllable position player, specifically an OF.

Unrelated, but Dustin Nosler wrote a pretty good summary on what might happen if they should trade for Bauer/Kluber and/or sign Yusei Kikuchi.

Here is the link to the report that Nosler referenced:

No one took Greinke away except Greinke. He'd pitch in Kenya during Ebola season for a dollar more. Dumbfuck.

I don’t know. Stripling is what say a 2-3 win decrease at SP, but you add that same thing in RF where Naquin is projected 0.5 wins and Puig is over 2. I’d be ok with Joc instead of Puig if they want an extra year of control. Then Smith is their catcher of the future.

To clarify my previous post IF the the rumors are true he'd be the guy. He's a new age guy who is still young. Has a great head on his shoulders, heavy on spin rate and the new baseball metrics. I'm still a traditional 1st guy but since this is the future I'd kick the tires as we are doing now.

Not sure about a great head on his shoulders. He’s new age baseball minded and that’s great but he’s a straight tool bag. Absolute ass hole. Dude can pitch tho. And that’s all I really care about.. besides I’m an ass hole too so there’s that

On the heels of Carlos Carrasco’s three-year, $37.5M extension, Cleveland is increasingly motivated to move Trevor Bauer or Corey Kluber, sources tell Yahoo Sports. Plenty of options on the trade market, which is extremely active as Patrick Corbin has signed with the Nationals.

Good post. Great head on shoulders meaning he's cerebral. Yeah I'm not a fan of guys with attitude off the field but if they have it on the mound and they are successful at being a dick then give me that player. The proclivity to hate the Gnats is real obviously but it worked for MadBum in the playoffs as an example and that's we need.

Update: Bauer has 2 more years of control.

    • One arm that stands out is Joe Kelly, who Dodgers fans have become quite familiar with in recent postseason series. The 31-year-old was a dominant force in the Boston Red Sox bullpen during the 2018 World Series, logging six scoreless innings with 10 strikeouts over five appearances. Kelly was also solid in the regular season despite posting a 4.39 ERA over 65.2 innings of work, registering 9.3 strikeouts per nine with even better peripherals (3.57 FIP). The right-hander’s fastball was easily his most productive pitch in 2018, earning a value of 4.1 per FanGraph’s calculations. Kelly’s heater also averaged 98.5 mph on the year — the second-highest mark of his career (99.2 mph in 2017). Adding that kind of speed to the Dodgers bullpen would be a welcome addition, as the group currently lacks in hard-throwers with the exceptions of Pedro Baez and Jansen.

I think it opens up more doors, but the excess pitching that we would likely look to move is more back of the rotation guys. Wood and Stripling have higher ceilings due to recent success, but both were probably pitching over their heads a bit. The teams that are in on the FA's now are not going to be too interested in our specs likely as they want to compete now.

I am not a big fan of Ottavino in that I have watched him have probably 2 or 3 of the most disastrous outings I have ever seen out of a pitcher. When the games count a bit more, he has a tendency to fold and hang that slider. I'd personally pass on him.

Thanks. Not his best moment but he did have his best year. Getting him out of altitude change your opinion?

No, he fucked up again in the Wild Card(in Chicago) game and NLDS. He's a hard no for me.
