The signing could upset the uniform staff. J. Martin, R. Martin, F. Martin. It's all a little confusing, they have real chemistry in the Chinese sweatshop. At least Dodgers.com can get busy writing about his offseason yoga rituals and other gay inconsequential shit.

If they settle for a guy that can play decent or good defense and can walk once or twice a game you can get an effective scrub cheap.
Wait that's sorta like an aj ellis.
An Ellis is probably available somewhere blocked by someone with more actual talent.
Although the skill of getting the most out of your few talents is a talent great to have

Chris Reed, Beckett, AJ Ellis, Carl Crawford, Juan Uribe for
    Moustakas, Gordon and Perez

Gordon can move back to third or play OF, they get a catcher, LF, and 3B and pitching.

Dave, I hope you're doing well up there!

    Jeannie Martin?

I like a catcher that can throw out a base runner and play defense.

Might as well bring back Loney-Goodson, Xavier Paul and Trayvon Robinson.

    Is Wilton Guerrero available?

Do you all REALLY see catcher as the big problem with this team?

    Biggest weakness on the team.

None of them could hit sand if they fell off a camel.

"the big problem.." Nah not really... "a problem" OK it is certainly worth a positional upgrade

AJ would make a great backup catcher. He could be the personal catcher for his bestie once a week, plus he could handle an occasional Sunday game. He's a solid starter for most clubs, but it's not crazy for a team with a $250 million payroll to expect an even better starter.

Catcher isn't the largest issue with this team.

It's the lack of production from the OF.
The Chinchilla has become a terrible CF with no bat.
The Pig is still out of control and a mental midget on the base paths.
    CC sucks sucks.
Ethier looks like he's 41 years old half of the time but is sadly the best defensive outfielder on the team.
The middle infield defense takes me back to Steve Sax and Jose Offerman.
The other larger issue is that idiot we call the manager.
The GM and his love for ex-gnats and apparently Brandon Bush-League
The #4 and #5 Starters inability to get past the 5th inning. Thus giving Dum Dum the chance to go Joe Torre on the bullpen.

Catcher (with a healthy AJ) is the least of my concerns. His back ups are the problem.

I agree with (most of) Koufax's commentary.

And if you knew our history, you'd know I don't often agree with the ckocksucker tool gentleman.

    Serially?

Bigger than the non-existent defense? The team is giving away free outs. It's insane.

Bigger than the 'alleged' offense? This 'high falutin' offense is tied for 12th in MLB in runs scored,...with fucking Cleveland. Fucking Miami scores more runs than the Dodgers. The Dodgers are 19th (fuckin' 19th, understand?) in OPS.

Bigger than the bullpen? The Dodgers bullpen has pitched more innings than any other club EXCEPT Arizona. They've given up more walks (the bullpen) than any team other than the White Sux or the Blue Jays. They are tied for 8th in earned runs allowed. And 24th in OBP allowed. Not to mention 5th in hits allowed. Oh yeah, and they lead MLB in wild pitches.

But yeah, you're right. It's definitely the catching.

    :smh:

Well at the present moment those numbers are bad, but I don't think anyone, yourself included, would think that level of futility will continue for the entire season.

    Our poor catching however, will.
