    Rachel Nichols on ESPN:
I’ve been texting with Isaiah Thomas’ agent, and he says in capital letters: “HE IS NOT COMING OFF THE BENCH.” The idea is that they would a buyout, maybe, before they did something like that.

Sounds like fake news to me.

Defense. If you can't play it, you cannot be part of the team.

If he can play team defense like in Boston then no problem.
In Cleveland there was no team defense.

If that were true Clarkson would've fallen out of the rotation a long time ago and it wouldn't have taken a Zo injury to open it up for Hart.
With Isaiah's game tonight, it was like Clarkson never left..pretty much how easy it is to replace Clarkson..an Isaiah thats not close to being at his best is maybe equal to Clarkson.
And Isaiah definitely looks like he has a ways to go getting back into basketball shape.
Isaiah looks like he's been hanging out with Fat Joc Pederson

Embiid is the slowest athletic guy I've ever seen
He's like the kraken..moving 200 mph, but in slow motion
    Pretty amazing

McGrady with the funniest line this season on Elfrid Payton, " dude's hair is like a permanent contested jumpshot "

Believe it or not, but Clarkson was a better defender in those scheme than IT. And it wasn’t just this one game. IT was a horrid defender for the Cavs and with Boston, they could hide his weakness because of Brad Steven’s defensive minded skills. We don’t quite have that in Luke yet.

If you're arguing that Isaiah couldn't be a key bench member of a contender, you're wrong.
Well, I shouldnt say wrong just yet because I need to see more of him offensively and if he can shed some weight and regain some of his quickness on that end

With that in mind comes the question of his hip. He's been a step slower since coming back.

Boston getting undressed by the new look Cavs so far
Not enough talk about how weak Boston's offense has been this season

Why I'd like to see what he looks like without the added weight. Hard to determine with the excess lbs.

    He isn't back.
    Yall shorting him. Pun intended.
Dude has more heart than most.
Every other NBA player would still be out with his injury. He came back super early.
He also did not have surgery.
He did what athletes used to do in the past.
Which is dedicated every day super hard rehab.
He came back and asks for no restrictions. Super sure of his body because he built it back up himself. Not a surgeon with a scalpel.
In a few months yall will be saying how the lakers better resign him.

Our system is perfect for him because no one is a dedicated ballhandler when everyone is allowed to be a balhandler.
Which btw is why Kyrie left cleveland and why KD left OKC and why paul george will probably leave Russ next.

Its why Isaiah is a perfect high use 6th man. You can play him next to a scrubs type who can defend like Corey Brewer and there is no defense issue. And Brewer starts to be usefull offensively cutting to the base from Isaiah penetration.

But he doesn’t want to play a 6th man role. He hinted at it before the Mavs game and when he got traded via his agent.

It’s not that I don’t think he has talent, it’s just that he’s a huge question mark on this team, especially when we’ve been trying to get out of the cellar in terms of our defense for years now. IT just may not be the same player anymore, like D Rose hasn’t been a shell of himself since his knees gave out.

I still strongly believe this was a salary dump situation, and unless IT becomes the next Stephen Curry in the next 30 games, he’s not gonna get a max deal from this FO.

Who is talking bout a máx deal?
And IT issue dont compare with Rose.
Rose is kind of a dog.
Magic already said that Lonzo is not losing his job.
What the agent said is hype. Thats his job. To advocate for his money err... his client.
If IT starts its at SG because he shows up KCP. But most likely IT get a KCP type deal next year so he can finally bank some money and make him finally feel wanted. Thats if we dont sign two max players this year. If we sign one now and one in 19 we can give him big one year deal then in the future use bird rights on him once we lock up stars.
Thats why we got a nerd like Pelinka.
He knows how to work this shit.

Just him and Paul George make this team a playoff contender.
Hell even without George we would make the 8TH seed at least.
IT can get us there and make us an underdog that no top tier team will want to face. Mostly out of sheer force of will.
Which is an ingrdient a young team like this absolutely needs once they become a playoff team.
And few in the nba have the balls that IT carries.
    Ask yourself this...
When a killer like Kobe looks at IT what does he see?
    He sees game.
And what does he say to us?
    You better recognize.

If you think IT is anywhere close to Kobe, that's a problem. IT has been with 5 teams in 5 years(?). Not exactly a Kobe type talent. Does not deserve a max contract anywhere, not the least the Lakers.

IT is salary dump fodder. If he doesn't realize that, then that is his problem. If he thinks max contract, just dump him and his attitude and his 5'9" non-defending attitude by the wayside.

I don't want him to be the complaining cancer he was in Clev and the other places he played.

Napolean complex is what we don't need on a young team.
