A gold-dripped LAL throne, crown and vault?
Clearly, AMEX is getting in on LAL's King James recruitment..and I'm not mad at them.

    No. Just no.
I was on the fence about LeBron coming to LA. This makes me completely sure I don't want him. I can't see him coming to the west and losing in the first/second round for the rest of his career anyway.

Nah, I know an AMEX tribute to LAL hasn't impacted your preference in wanting the best player in the league. That's too ridiculous for me to believe. That's damn near on the level of people thinking another man's father would stop LeBron from joining LAL.

I don't see LeBron coming to the west and losing in the 1st/2nd round for the rest of his career either. Mostly because the Lakers would win and be in the conference finals by year 2 at the latest.

I think we've talked about this a bunch before. Agree LeBron is the best available right now, but he is 33 with a ton of miles on him. Not sure how good he's going to be in 2 years.

And something just feels sickeningly wrong about treating him like a king in LA. That shit is fine for Cleveland, but come win 5 titles in LA first, then I'll think about a coronation.
I want the Lakers to build their own identity around this team and maybe guys like Paul George, Boogie Cousins or Klay Thompson. As a fan it would be hard for me to get on board with the LeDrama that follows James around.

    I agree 100%
Right up to the moment LeBron signs with the Lakers.
    Then KING LEBRON it is.
And since his game is not entirely speed/agility related he can still compete in his older years.
Ultimately he is a forward not a guard and is built like a PF. And in this modern NBA if he was coming out in the draft he would be a PF for sure. I have a feeling that at age 38 he would still be quicker/agile than most PF's that have his strength/body type.
His shooting is improving and if he continues to work on that he could ride that into the sunset. In essence be what Magic tried to be when he came back, except better than Magic because he doesnt have the hivs.
If our young wing players are to develop then a guy like LeBron will be pushed to a PF position.
He might not want to have to defend those bigger guys but in reality, most modern PF's are not that tall or not that much stronger than LeBron.
If we do sign a wingman for him it should be a 3 and D guy like George, Kawhi or Klay. It would be crazy if Ball develops into our home grown superstar with the mentoring of LeBron. Ball is the Kobe to LeBron's Shaq the way LeBron can physically dominate his peers and Ball is this young guy the org sees as a future superstar but most of the fans and league look at with a sideeye not really buying it.

    PG: Ball, Ingram, Hart
    SG: George, Ingram, Hart
    SF: Kuzma, Ingram
    PF: LeBron, Ingram
C : Randle, Ingram, Zubac/Bryant + some old veteran on the cheap.

Kuzma is our Horry with the killer instinct and shooting.
Ingram is the glue guy Rick Fox plus that can play anywhere and do anything with a cool demeanor.
Hart is a hard working steady clutch guy like Fisher.
Randle is a modern Horace Grant know your role type of big man that bangs for rebounds and space in the post.
George would be that extra piece that pulls it all together. Like a Pippen.

Are we talking about the same LeBron James? The one who, just a few days ago, had to duck his head so that he didn't bump it on the rim going for an alley-oop in year 15 of his career? LeBron is a machine. Everybody just has to come to grips with that. Looks pretty damn inevitable that he's still going to be a Top 10-15 player going into year 20. Seemingly the only way to stop that from happening would be for Jordan himself to pull a Tonya Harding hitman move and just go to work on his knees in a dark alley. LeBron is probably the most athletic human being since Bo Jackson..maybe the Bengals can catch LeBron from behind and bust his hip up? I would not be shocked if LeBron James played a record 30 NBA seasons, trying to set all the damn records.

As far as not liking the idea of LeBron being treated like a king in LA..can't control the way people react to one of the greatest of all times joining, so why fret? I mean, ask yourself this.." what would Dr. Buss do? " And we all know that answer..which is, roll out the red carpet for LeBron ASAP. Shaq was the king of LA on arrival, without doing a thing and far less than what LeBron has accomplished on the whole. Even the grumpiest of all Lakers, Jerry West, did a touchdown dance and got down on his knees and thanked lord Shaq for joining. It was Shaq's city before a single trophy was hoisted during that run.

When asked about the situation by Rachel Nichols of ESPN, Anthony Davis acknowledged that he’s heard other historical greats like Kevin Garnett publicly lament their decisions to not demand trades out of dire basketball situations sooner and wonders if he’ll suffer the same fate:

“When you hear that it makes you think. I’m not going to lie, it makes you think because you wonder if you’re following in that same path. But then again, you be like, ‘This year could be the year.’ You don’t know. So you just got to take it year-by-year and just see. See where the team is going, what direction they want to go to, and just see where their head is.”

Ainge should do it. Trade it all for AD, the whole warchest

Mitch and Jim fucked everything up.
They are why nobody wanted to come here, not Kobe.
Magic is the new West, a former Laker great now running the front office with supreme authority.
LeBron is a football player. His body never breaks down. He never misses a playoff game. Is ready to go at the start of every season. Has never had a big injury. Players bounce off of him like if he was a dominant big. Refs protect him like if he was a superstar small.
He has some of that Shaq quality in him, that Wilt quality, and even Kareem-like in his longevity potential.
Fuck it, make him the center as he grows older. He can dedicate himself to getting bigger and stronger and be Draymond on defense while killing every center in the league on offense. Destroying teams with matchups issues.
The team can employ a bunch of big cheap shot blockers/defenders/rebounders off the bench to spell him here and there.
He has already been an all start at SF and SF... and he should have been one his rookie year when he played SG.
If he is going for all the records he should get in a full season at SG, PG, and C and become an all star at those positions.
Like if Lonzo goes down with a season long injury and LeBron has to step in and has another all star year.
Wilt wanted to get records and do crazy shit just for the fun of it. LeBron seems like the type to want to do that too as he gets older.
LA would be the perfect place to do it.
And it would make old Jerry Buss twist the night away in his grave.

Hoooly shit. Kawhi is out for the season, Popovich says.
And Kawhi is medically cleared to play, but he's electing not to.
Whoa..man, we might get Kawhi in FA/2019

Kawhi trying to beat George to LAL. Lol
Watch George leave OKC and sign with LAL, only for Pop to ship Kawhi to his buddy Presti in OKC to replace George for a year.
Pop just needs to go ahead and accept a sign and trade Julius/Zubac offer for Kawhi and call it
All this on the heels of Klay saying he knows several Socal guys that would love to play for LAL

Lebron is the most delusional and ignorant athlete I can think of.
I'm plenty ignorant and delusional in my own right, but damn that guy is clueless.

    Not saying LeBron isnt delusional.
But I think Flat Earth Kyrie Irving might be more ignorant.

No ACL tear for Jimmy Butler, 6-8 weeks/meniscus
Still, at this point I almost expect Paul George and Klay Thompson to blow their knees out
The guys linked to LAL in free agency are dropping like flies..Kawhi was already on the mend, then Cousins goes down, and now Butler
Pretty soon, only LeBron will be left..of course, he's immune to injury
