Stephen A SmithVerified account@stephenasmith I think LeBron and the Lakers are going to win over 50 games this season. Is it too late to withdraw my prediction?
Patrick Beverley - " ..we're the best team in LA, for sure. " This is why LAL has to beat the brakes off the Clips this year. To shut Beverley the fuck up for once. Lou Williams was saying the same the other day as well. Fuckin journeymen talking crazy. Both could end up being traded. Lol If LAL plays balls to the wall against anyone this regular season, let it be against the Clips. Let there be no mistake, let the asswhoopins be so astronomical that Kawhi has no choice but to stiff arm Jerry West after the season.
I knew the Knicks situation was toxic but I had no idea and I always thought Beasely was physically talented but with a Dwight Coward/Puig level cabbage head atop the massive shoulders. Now I see he's a bruised flower seeking a soft fertile landing and hoping he can stay. Hope his stones drop if he's coming here to play
Yea, dude likes to have fun, but he's not so much of a clown or so ignorant to the point of being annoying. Same can pretty much be said for Lance
yeah I agree. I always took Beasley for a mini Coward, big athletic but topped with cabeza de repollo But that interview showed his heart and no small amount of humility at having lived through shit holes like NYC and other has been locales maybe he can listen and work and become a very useful vet piece to mesh with the youngsters Lance is a bit different smaller, very dynamic, good shooter but highly erratic focus good role player but not pulling on the leaders shoes which also is good for us since we don't need any more ego's bruised at the dinner table than we'll already have. both could work which is all we can ask for.. make us competitive again already. At last
Think maybe both could get their share of key 4th quarter minutes, Lance especially with how he competes defensively, so even though they won't be playing a bunch of minutes overall at least they'll get some meaningful minutes. The FO reportedly wants to keep LeBron around 33.5 minutes a night, so they're expecting guys to play up to their talent level and make good on the improved depth. Jimmy Butler speculation has begun, him potentially landing with LAL next offseason, but this time around LAL is better positioned to deal with rumors and how they may effect the team thanks to multiple 1 year vet deals and the young core having a clearer understanding of where they'll be long term. Butler would be a good get..I'd rank him behind (1) Durant, (2A) Klay and (2B) Kawhi, but he'd be great given good health. That'd be the only question about Butler..can he stay healthy? If he's healthy, he's better than Paul George. I do hate that he'd be signing as a guy that's months away from turning 30 though. But other than Kawhi, that whole group will be on the verge of turning 30 by next year's FA period..Durant will already be 30. Granted, probably matters less since LAL will be in clear win now mode..sign them through ages 33-34
Obviously, way early, but it's looking like Kyrie will choose between Boston and one of the NY teams. And Mychal has thrown cold water on the notion that Klay would leave GSW. If Kyrie stays in Boston and Kawhi picks Clippers over LAL..I think that's when Jimmy B becomes the top option for LAL. Unless of course, Durant shakes up the bball world and wants in with his son ( Ingram) and LeBron..it feels like this has a better shot at happening for LAL than Butler simply because Butler and Kyrie are buddies and want to play together. What a tangled web I weave.
That Big 3 league is pretty entertaining. Just to see who's stayed in shape and can still show glimpses. Funny AF to see Glen big baby Davis dominating old stars like Amare and Jermaine O'neal. I'll definitely check Kobe out. Guys probably can't wait to get Kobe out there, thinking they have a lil something for him, but I bet it ends up being the other way around and Kobe kills their asses again Lol
Some rumors out about LAL potentially swapping Deng for Jeremy Lin Really all this cast is missing is Linsanity
Just to be fair, Lin would be of more use than Deng, so I can see the intrigue from that perspective involving Deng's uselessness. Another guard with scoring chops in case Zo is struggling with the knee or his FTs, whatever. Plus, if Lin didn't crack the rotation ( likely), he's a solid team guy that won't bitch. Type of guy that'll just wait until his number is called. But yeah, there are maybe better targets that will reveal themselves after training camps so LAL should hold tight
Mhm https://bleacherreport.com/articles...um=referral&utm_campaign=programming-national The 28-year-old forward is open to “moving on from the Timberwolves” and joining LeBron James on the Lakers, according to a report from Bleacher Report, which cites an unidentified league source. Butler could become an unrestricted free agent next summer if he declines his player option for 2019-2020 We're getting somebody. Hard to figure out which guy because Kyrie could pull any one of Durant/Kawhi/Butler to NY to join he and Porzingis.
really hate how the money fucks up the games and a couple of all star teams is a boring and tedious formula for the league have faith in BI and Kuz but Hart is going to be that intangible no team can do without
