i agree, but i look moreso at Mattingly because Kersh is who he his..he fights to stay in games all year and he doesn't trust his bullpen either. it's Mattingly's job to put his foot down and save Kersh from himself. Kersh is in the heat of the moment, highly competitive and doesn't trust a soul in the pen other than Kenley..which Mattingly probably didn't either, but save your ace from himself. well, you can't please everybody. i think there would be just as many people saying " i wonder how Mattingly would've screwed that one up " Lol
Of course. I said "both" because Kersh has to know what's best, despite what his competitive nature tells him. It's 100% on DBB to take charge and take the ball out his hand. I bet if you were to ask Clayton today he would say he should have come out. Of course. IF Maddon brought home a winner. Not being disrespectful, but this forum is the ultimate Monday morning quarterback.
i don't know..i guess it all depends on who's asking the question. Kersh always feels like it's his job to carry the load and then he probably wouldn't admit to being gassed either because it might look like a slight to the number the Cards did on him, so if it's the media asking he might give the same ol' Kershaw response. i'd like to see him answer that question behind closed doors though..because if he comes out..Baez is comin in. Lol don't know that he'd want his team's season to come down to Baez. it only seems like that because our real quarterback throws so many damn interceptions
closer to a seeing eye single and line drive than a blooper. a 91MPH fastball inside in which Peralta got the barrel of the bat on..well hit enough to get past a guy who was already in pretty good position.
Expect an announcement tomorrow. http://espn.go.com/chicago/mlb/story/_/id/11786485/joe-maddon-expected-become-chicago-cubs-manager
Maddon supposedly has a deal in place with the Cubs http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2014/10/cubs-to-hire-joe-maddon-as-manager.html The Cubs will hire Joe Maddon as their new manager, reports Jon Heyman of CBS Sports (Twitter link). Earlier today, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reported that Maddon and the Cubs had been negotiating. Rick Renteria, who had been serving as manager, has two years remaining on the three-year pact he signed with Chicago just last offseason. Maddon’s agent, Alan Nero, has told reporters, including Bruce Levine of 670thescore.com (Twitter link) that the two sides are in negotiation, but he is still talking with other clubs. However, Joel Sherman of the New York Post tweets that he, too, has been able to confirm through a source that an agreement is in place.
Fuck Friedman. Send his ass to some Palestinian rebels for not doing what the Cubs did. Andrew Freidman: The Circumsized Vagina.
meh, fwiw... Now that Joe Maddon is managing the Cubs, Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe wonders if Dodgers' President Of Baseball Operations Andrew Friedman will regret sticking with Don Mattingly in Los Angeles and not making a move to bring Maddon to the Dodgers. “I think it will be a case of, ‘Why didn’t I do what the Cubs did?’ ” a baseball executive tells Cafardo. “Joe Maddon seemed to be the hot manager out there and guys like that aren’t available very often. When Maddon is out there you don’t need a long, drawn-out managerial search. If you can afford him, you hire him.” .
