Sure...we all want him to excel and come back asap. But Dave has said, referring to his projected immediate return after at ASB, that " he'll need longer". Just how much was not specified. Idk...dont want to be unduly alarmed, but anything like this doesn't sound affirming. Hope Dave's in LF on this..not literally of course.
meh don't care about the individual awards just want him 100% and not in jeopardy of reinjuring himself by coming back too soon
Obviously that's the goal. To be 100 percent and help the team. That's a given. But 4 Cy Youngs and 2 MVPs? That's crazy and I want it to happen.

Figured this was the best place to put this.. Think about this scenario: The Dodgers win the first wild card. We win it handily enough that we can line up Kershaw for that game. Kershaw dominates, we win the game and advance to the NDS. Through excellence from Kershaw, steadiness from Maeda and enough gritty performances from the offense to overcome the weight of a lack of a third starter, the Dodgers advance to the WS The Dodgers battle the AL representative through game 6. Dropped by Kenta Maeda in his worst start of the playoffs. Kershaw had also lost game 5 with a chance to close out the sweep squandered by a late home run in Matt Adams fashion, but he had pitched well in Game 2. Although the 3rd stater had pitched well in game 4, a clear dilemma arises with the Dodgers having the option of having the usually inept 3rd starter pitch game 7 or giving the ball to Kershaw on two days rest, calling to memory Koufax's two day rest shutout in '65. Kershaw demands the game ball, and the FO and Dave Roberts, recognizing the destiny of the moment, allow Kershaw to cement his legacy as one the greatest of all time who pitches a nearly perfect game 7. Just can't get over how fucking cool that would be. We simply have to get a ring for this guy, he's too great.
take your time kersh this gutless team is going nowhere with or without you Kershaw return date remains uncertain by Doug Padilla | ESPN Staff Writer — 98 minutes ago PHOENIX -- A day after he threw a simulated game at Dodger Stadium, Clayton Kershaw's return to the rotation remains undecided, reducing the possibility that he could come back by Thursday's game at Washington. Kershaw has not pitched since June 26 because of a lower back injury that was diagnosed as a mild disk herniation. He is eligible to return from the disabled list, but the Dodgers are giving their staff ace more time to make sure he is 100 percent recovered. The Dodgers wanted to see how Kershaw came out of his Saturday session before deciding their next move. Manager Dave Roberts did not say there was a setback of any kind, but he still does not have a concrete plan for Kershaw at this time. "After that [the simulated game], we're just making sure he feels his body feels 100 percent ready to come back because when he does come back, we want him to stay healthy," Roberts said. "That's why we're being extra cautious as we are with all of our players. A couple, two, three days, to see how his body responds, and how he feels, will give us a lot more clarity. Right now, as we've been, we're reluctant to put any return date for Clayton. You have to defer to his health, obviously." It was Roberts who suggested last week that Kershaw could return on the road trip, which runs through a visit to St. Louis on July 24. The Dodgers will have made one turn through the rotation to start the second half by the end of Wednesday's game at Washington. Scott Kazmir and Hyun-Jin Ryu will pitch in the first two games of that series. It left the possibility that Kershaw could pitch Thursday. The Dodgers have not scheduled a pitcher beyond Wednesday in their daily game notes. Roberts said he had no qualms about pitching three left-handers in a single series, which would happen if Kershaw pitched Thursday. The manager also said he wasn't concerned about having Kershaw fly across the country to pitch after a back injury. Yet the longer the Dodgers wait to make a decision, the more likely it is that he returns later in the week. Roberts was even asked whether the Dodgers might wait until their next homestand to get Kershaw back into the mix. "I think that for Clayton, if he feels well and the doctors support it, then whether it's on the road or at home, that decision will be made," Roberts said. "I can't even speak to when that would be. We're trying to give it just a couple more days to see how he feels. I think that after the exertion, when things start to settle, his body will feel a certain way, whether he feels refreshed and not sore or he feels sore, and we have to readjust." If Kershaw does not pitch in Washington, Bud Norris is in line to pitch Thursday. The tentative rotation at St. Louis would be Brandon McCarthy on Friday, Kenta Maeda on Saturday and Kazmir on Sunday Night Baseball, unless Kershaw takes one of those games. Kershaw is 11-2 with a 1.79 ERA, and the Dodgers have won 14 of his 16 starts this season.
This shit is starting to get scary Back problems can ruin careers. Just ask Tracy McGrady, Tiger Woods, etc..
Hopefully it's just the team being extra cautious. This is easier to take after a win, but I just hope he's good to go by Aug 23 when we face the Giants.
The big Q: Will the FUCKTARDS pander to their scar fetish and look for more injured band aids to add to their DL stockpile or get a real pitcher...?
Hopefully, but when it's Kershaw complaining about the pain, then it's not great news. I had a disk herniation and for some, it's not something that just goes away sometime. I had to get surgery, and I have not been the same backwise since. So I'm concerned.
