    Why not sign Fielder?

Seriously what does frank or Ned have to lose? "Experts" said the siging of Matt Kemp (which the club STILL hasn't confirmed) added value to the team wouldn't logic dictate that adding a player such as Fielder or Puljols or Wilson add even more value?

Why isn't frank or ned spending money like a sailor on leave? (or like a new yorker or bostonian)

frank isn't gonna have to cut the checks! Who cares go nuts.

MLB probably won't let him spend on expensive players he doesn't already have.

That is a negative on the balance sheet and might not be seen as value added by a new owner. The Kemp deal is at a good price and he is the current face of the Dodgers along with Kershaw. Fielder isn't. Fielder has longevity issues that Kemp doesn't and a new owner might not consider him a value added player and might bid accordingly.

I think you need a minimum number of posts; 10, 25 or 50...

As noted before me, the issue is that MLB wouldn't approve the contract. Your idea makes complete sense and likely very well liked by the new owner, but it's a logistical thing more so than anything else.

I can't wait until McCunt is gone and Ned goes back to filming Weekend at Bernie's

I get what you guys are saying MLB won't approve the deals but reports are out saying even with Kemp's new contract the payroll will still be lower than last year. So in theory if you could add a player like Fielder, maintain the payroll level, the team wouldn't be any worse for the wear?

^It may not be the amounts that have this possibility on hold it could be the years. I am sure Fielder is looking for at least a 7 or 8 year deal and that is a huge commitment.

I just can't stop thinking about the fact that signing a premier free agent like Fielder or Pujols, shouldn't have to seem so unrealistic. I mean, are you fucking me with talks about us having a payroll of 90 million? Who are we, the fucking Royals? We are in a market that should have a payroll that allows us to sign both Pujols and Fielder this offseason, if we really wanted too. God I just can't wait for McCourt to be out of here. With new ownership, I can't help but feel like every offseason we're going to fill any major holes we have with the top FA's.
