they were one win away from being world champs
they need tweaks, not a major overhaul
and the surplus of prospects either develop or can be used to trade for something we need
we don't need stanton -- and he wouldn't have made the difference unless he pitched game 7
and for the price, you could get 52 chris taylor's
it's a moot point because the dodgers aren't going to pursue him

    Yup.
    Second tier.
With the with the Indians, Yankees, Red Sox, Cubs, Nationals.
We are the top of the second tier though.
If that makes you feel better.

It does not work like that Irish.
We could just as easily with 15 less games next season.
    Other teams can get better.
The Astros are going to go hard for pitching. And after the whole thing with Darvish they may try for a feel good media story and go hard after him as a FA.
And they may upgrade their DH.
Why would JD Martinez not want to go to the champion Astros and get a ring too as the DH?

You have to factor these things.
Will Cody become like Joc and Puig and go on a massive downturn?
Will Seager recover, can he still play SS effectively?
Can Hill keep it up for another year?
Will Kike be a good utility player again or will he go back sucking?
    Which Logan are we getting?
Are Puig and Joc really back?
Will Taylor, Barnes, Wood, etc... revert back to the mean or are they for real?
Will our next class of rookie types (Buehler, Urias, Verdugo) pan out?
Is Justin Turner about to enter the beginning of the downswing of his career due to injuries?
Will it matter if Kershaw and Kenley are chokers anyway?

another thing about the whole convo is do we really expect the same cody, taylor, puig, etc. to produce like that all year?
look at what happened to that potent cubs offense...

But was or is hitting the most pressing problem? Or the pitching in games 2, and 5? We win one of those games, and we're having champagne.

Getting 5 runs down 5-0 in the second is too much to ask any offense.

    Hitting.
This is a hitters league now.
    Hugely a hitters league.
The Dodgers are all about pitching and defense.
Great stuff, but its not that time right now.
Right now its about everyone in your lineup having good power and everyone having a live bat with lots of guys who can score runs and bat runs in in big numbers.
    The Astros are the Warriors.
    Dodgers are the Thunder.
We resigned Durant though this past offseason.
Now we have to go and get LeBron or at least Boogie.

...and they didn't. They chose to trade second tier (DeLeon and Calhoun) for second tier and left the cream for the winners, again, as usual!

Case and point, are you still stoked to have Urias? We could have gotten WAYYYY more than we did had they moved him.

    Dozier > Forsythe
    Verlander/Martinez >>>> Darvish and Granderson

Now, you lost me there. Don't be fucking with my Vitamix! :D :D :D

Vitamix is versatile as hell, built like a tank and STILL the standard of it's class after 40 years!

Rag on the Ninja , Blendtec or some other here today gone tomorrow wanna be! :D :D

    • Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman said he expects Adrian Gonzalez to be an everyday player again in 2018, after back injuries limited the first baseman to just 71 games and 57 starts this season.

Maybe so, but only when it becomes his choice, unlike Stanton.

So with more Adrian? I guess that means that we are going to go after Stanton and will need to try and get some value out of Adrian or prove he is too hurt to play and retire him for the savings then bring in a big bopper at the deadline.

    vs right
    2B: Taylor
    3B: Turner
    RF: Stanton
    LF: Bellinger
    SS: Seager
    CF: Puig
    1B: Adrian
    C : Catcher

    vs left
    RF: Stanton
    3B: Turner
    SS: Seager
    1B: Bellinger
    2B: Taylor
    CF: Puig
    LF: Kike or Forsythe
    C : Catcher

Adrian/Kike become one hitter that split for each other essentially and also would most likely be the DH.

I dlont know why but there is this zen thing about making out lineups. Maybe its just me, its pretty relaxing.

Not probably. Guarantee you he's already told Miami that much. Either way, Stanton has all the power here with that full no trade clause. And TBT, any MLB FO that fails to at least check in on his situation should be fired and cleared out. But really this whole ordeal has to be done and over fairly soon so things can fall into place for free agency, so whatever they do or wherever he winds up, lets just get on with this Miami Fire Sale Vol. 12 already FFS

Alright, so call up an AL team and tell them that he is theirs for whoever eats the most money, they may only eat like 5 million of the deal, but it's at least something
