Agree with all of this. What a boring way to open up the post-season!

Let's hope the Dodger games are 1000x more exciting and they ease our anxiety by scoring 10 runs early on! :D

I went there last year and it wasn't nearly as fun as Dodger Stadium. I was pretty surprised.

Yankees match franchise low with fifth straight postseason loss
12h - MLB NEW YORK YANKEES

NEW YORK -- The New York Yankees still have not led in a postseason game since Derek Jeter sprawled in the dirt three years ago, screaming in pain from a broken ankle.

It's a string of playoff losses that reached five straight Tuesday night to match a franchise record. The team had a streak of nine games without a win from 1921-23, but that stretch included a tie in the 1922 World Series.

But the season-ending 3-0 loss to the Houston Astros in the winner-take-all AL wild-card game should not have been a surprise: The 2015 Yankees might have overachieved just by reaching the postseason.

A seven-game lead in the AL East in late July caused the Yankees to think they could be a great team. That was forgotten during a slide that ended with an 87-75 record, a six-game deficit behind Toronto and a second-place finish.

"The wheels were flying off as the season went on," general manager Brian Cashman said outside the quiet clubhouse. "The longer it went, for some reason, the worse we started to get. Obviously, we lost some key guys, but also some guys just did not play the way they are capable of playing."

I watched that game with no volume last night, but we could all tell that there was no life in that crowd. Tonight is going to be night and day. Those Pirate fans are rabid lunatics and it should make for some excitement.

I watched part of the Yankee game and the loudest the crowd got was with a high pop up to center and three different Astro's feined at catching it until the CF called them off. I looked up because the stadium crowd got so noisy hoping for an error to save their worthless hides. Thankfully a simple catch shut them up again. Good night Yankees.

Their crowd will not help them in those play-in games. I think everyone was assuming the worst from the start, but it definitely didn't help that half the stadium was stuck out in the streets til the 3rd inning. I really hope Dodgers fans show up early on Friday as the security is gonna be a notch worse than normal. Their energy during playoff games can be some of the best in the game, having home field could be a great way to get the PO's rolling.

I couldn't handle being in the Wild Card game. 162 season and it can all go away if your pitcher that day is a little off his game.

    Couldn't imagine being a Pirate/Cub fan after watching a 97+ win season.

It's going to be a good game... we'll see if Arrieta can keep the Cub's feeble flicker alive

    could be worse
could have been a 103-win team in 1993 that lost out to a 104-win team
    on the season's final day
getting knocked out by an 81-win team -- that was 23 games back in the standingswith their soon to be rookie of the year going deep twice in a 12-1 blowout
oh, and it just any team... it was your bitter arch-rival

    yeah, i remember that day...

I kind of want the Pirates to win. They've been shown zero respect and almost everyone acts like they've already been eliminated. I know Arietta has been crazy good, but this is baseball...an infield single here and there could be the difference.

i hope it cole and arrieta each give up 10 runs, the game goes 28 innings, and both teams exhaust their bullpens
i know the cards won that division
but i fear the pirates and cubs more
i also want to beat the cards and i kinda feel we'll beat the this time
    that said, first things first
and no way i'm going to overlook the mets
