Kind of a throwaway line in Nosler's article earlier but worth thinking about.

We haven't traded anyone of significance off our MLB roster in a long time. If it helps us keep most of Buehler, May, Ruiz, Smith, etc...

Could be risky because you don't know how Seager will respond next year and Manny is no guarantee to return. Muncy will regress to some degree, etc.

Bellinger will probably figure it all out eventually but if you can get a guy who already has it figured out to anchor a postseason rotation could be a bigger immediate difference maker. Especially if the relief market sucks ass.

    Thoughts?

We have five more years of Bellinger and he can sleepwalk to 4 WAR. Hell no.

    Not my style.

More like Verdugo, Dennis Santana, Sterling Heredia, Edwin Rios, Yadier Alvarez, and Forsythe just for Thor.
Wood and Maeda become the good relief pitchers the team needs.
But if you want to go for both Thor and DeGrom, fine... but you have to go get Matt Harvey too in order to complete the triiforce.

Kershaw, Thor, DeGrom, Buehler, Harvey with Strip, Wood, Maeda, Hill as part of a super powerful powerful bullpen who can step in for any starter who goes on the DL.
The rotation essentially becomes injury proof.

Another thing folks like the beloved @VRP are not considering....

Bases loaded, 9th inning, 2 outs in the WS...who would you rather have at the plate? Bellinger or DeGrom?

I'll take my chances with DeGrom all day over Cody.

Ehh. Bellinger hit a 3 run homer in a 4-4 Game 5 that would’ve won us the World Series if Kershaw wasn’t a dumb piece of shit.

Anyone who watched the Allstar game can see that MLB is juicing the balls again for their prime time games. They want HRs. It doesn’t matter if it’s Degrom, Kershaw, or Tomko... whoever we send out there will get shelled. The only hope for winning a WS is to hit more HRs than the other guy.

    Bellinger hits HRs.
