I know Romo was paying close attention to Dee, but DBB had to run him early in the count and not try to just sac... he needed to go to 2B so Ellis could have then bunted him over... Abreu's fly could have scored him, even though it was kind of shallow... this season has been good, and its amazing we were the last team to get eliminated, but when you see teams like the A's and O's making the playoff and teams like us, the Anals, Rays, Redsox out, you fully understand that this is 9 guys pushing together and that you need the 9 guys doing their part...

He didn't want to use Dee for Ethier until he had too. That game could've easily went extra innings(and we were trying to tie it to go extras) and you want Ethier in there still if possible both for defense and another plate appearance. Why use Dee to get to 2nd on a sac bunt? Ethier isn't a slow runner. I think the sac-bunt not being laid down was the worst part.
AND, it totally set us up to win today and tie the standings up. The Reds have a good shot at a win and we had CK going against the cheater Vogelsong. If Kemp and his huge BA vs. Lefties just showed up....what if.
we can second guess all we want but fordie is right we didn't execute and we can call the cardinals lucky but the bottom line -- no matter how you slice it -- is they won more games than us and yeah, that makes me sick to my stomach
I can't get over Kemp going 0-3 against Zitto. A player struggling in a big game against a pitcher he always struggles against is one thing. To choke against a pitcher you've always hit against is just that...choking under pressure. Even Ethier sacked up and got a hit against the lefty Afeldt. All along this team has been on Kemps back and that's not a good thing. What Kemp does dictates what the team does. That's not his fault, this team has to be able to move on when he sucks, but having him batting 3rd and sucking is really hard to overcome. It seemed the team set him up to be hero alot yesterday. Kemp has really pissed me off this time.
LOL, you know I've been thinking the same thing all night. CK is going to go out there for blood I'd bet. He is going to pitch like a bad MoFo I think. A perfect game is totally doable today, I almost expect at least a CG-SO or better.
