9 wins/ 11 loses in last 20games with no off days. I thought we'd do worse, although I'm not happy about this.

Well the fight's in the rcord books, and all that waits in the aftermath are suspensions and fines.
And the Dodgers go right back to being losers, just like they were before the fight. Didn't lose a step. Can't catch, and that's one of the worse things you can do in BB, is drop a perfect throw from the OF that had the runner nailed.
Another series we should have taken, but found a way to give away...this is our destiny, and it will continue until th proper moves are made.
    Maybe the next owners, whenever...

Wasted a really nice game by Clayton, and a courageous, ballsy one by Ryu, when he obviously didn't have it.
I don't think we will win 70/75 games this season. We just don't have the personnel to compete in the west. Not by a long shot. We are weak, and have so many holes offensively and sadly, defensively, that I just don't see anything ahead but more frustration and head scratching moves by the manager. He has the worst timing and intuition, and that's something you either have or don't. He don't. That's what made guys like Tommy a success. You can put in this guy or that one from your roster, and get success or failure...but you've got to know when and whose button to push at the proper time. Donnie is the exact opposite of that, and you will never win anything with that direction.
If he is not going to be hired next year, then what is the psychology of keeping him around right now? None, IMO.
Of course, unless it's been already decided that "we want to see what Don can do with a healthy team". Could be...it's the LAD.
Good managers are the ones that bring the team together, get the most out of replacement players when the front liners go down, and hold it together.
I think it's an indication of how bad we are, plainly, when people are posting that's it's OK that we are just under .500 recently. We are all getting used to being losers, and that will only bring us you know what.

    Fucking Dodgers.

Had to crash last night with game tied in 10th

Secure in knowing that at least we were tied

    For the moment

Also KNOWING full well that we'd find a way to lose it
    Eventually

So at least I got a good nights sleep.....

Dude, to each his own but that KK man love of yours is getting pretty strong...

you about to step fully out of the closet soon?

    :hide:

I gotta say it makes more sense now in light of you getting all rascally when Fordie told you to go get laid.

Fordie was right about that too...

Just thinking about it, these are the kind of series we have to sweep. Should have won the day league blew it, should of won yesterday. 4 game switch. If we're anywhere close in August or September then we'll look back at the shitty play now. Injuries are not excuse, gotta win those games and we failed

    Was that the game?

It felt to me like the entire game on that exact play.

Kind of felt like the whole damn season...

Even when one minor league scrub makes a good play there's always some other minor leaguer involved to F it up.

Exactly. Last night and Monday were games we had in our hands before we let it slip away. It was a clusterfuck of ineptitude by the whole team.

I be gettin da pussy pretty consistently, bkitch
My love affair with the mustached high prince is strictly plutonic ...except on weekends

I don't get rascally with Ford. I gotta keep him in check. He's been around the game so long I gotta keep his feet on the ground.

Did you give Shakira her shorts back Lumberjack?

see? there you go again getting all rascally...

guess you're in charge of keeping my feet on the ground now too eh?

Gotta have a laugh or two... especially with these fucking Dodger relievers playing games like it's batting practice

    great post bz
whereas a guy like bochey always seems one step ahead and almost always makes the right move, mattingly just doesn't seem to get it and often reacts too slowly, or not at all
choosing to bunt hernandez was asinine
not starting puig on a 2-1 pitch -- the "manager's count" -- the other day, is was got puig caught at third on an (albeit, great) throw from parra :nono:
imo, at this point donnie needs to mix things up to try and get things going
    desperate times...
my coach in college used to walk around all the time saying "improvise gentlemen, improvise"
donnie, unfortunately, doesn't seem to know the meaning of the word

Weather is atrocious here on the east coast... miserable and wet.
If this game does come off this afternoon, I really hope Fife does well, and gets some points towards being part of the staff. I'd much rather see him out there every 5 days than Lilly/Cap....these guys are so done overall, IMO. They gave us their last gasp for a little when they signed, but I don't think older guys like this last (consistently, effectively) until the contract end.
Who knows , or ever does, what lineup will trot out there tonight ? The most different lineups this year in MLB. I guess some will say it's the injuries, which play a big part...but as I remember, HoF manager, Joe Torre, did exactly the same thing.
I still wonder about Crawford, Ramirez, Kemp, AJ...just where are they with their "recoveries"?
We need a CF, man; it's starting to hurt badly. Shumaker can go get 'em to a point, but he's no CF, IMO. Nor is Dre.
I wonder what Ned is doing lately? Sitting on his laurels? Hmmm...are there any laurels to sit on?
