I think Don locked the media out and snuck out the side door. He doesn't want to talk about Puig anymore.

Did he say what Puig did? I had to take a call and all I caught was 'skip gave us a better chance to win today'...... but didn't catch anything else

nevermind, got the tv off of mute and it seems mattingly is using the 'its inhouse' card, so i guess we'll never know for sure

Don said "I thought Skip gave us a better chance to win today". And prefers to keep the rest of it in house.

Honestly he's just opening up a can of worms and sounds ignorant as fuck by saying this. And micromanaging lol

I couldn't disagree more. He handled exactly how he should. Something happened and it's probably serious. Something Nolasco called "unacceptable" and enough thea GM Ned was in on the postgame meeting. I don't know if it was the not sliding which was pretty fucking lame, but there has to be more to it than that. I have a feeling he had a shitty response to a coach or Don questioning/talking to him about that non-slide. He later looked angry in the OF like when he flipped the ball into the stands...He really looked pissed off at that time.

Whatever it is, I'm glad Don is protecting Puig with his response.

Ugh, can't wait for the media shitstorm that will follow. Even worse, another unbearable Puig column by Plaschke.

@markasaxon: Yasiel Puig on his removal: "I wasn't preparing well for each pitch. It was a good decision."

Good to hear from Puig. I'm sure the vetties beat up on him pretty good. He's an intelligent guy, he's just young and wild.

Always glad on a W...can't get better. But 2ER after yesterday, and 1 run in about 20+ innings before the 6 run game, is an indication of a team slump, IMO. I really don't want to go into the NLW environment that we have scheduled hitting like April/May finooks.
The spectacular pitching may be enough, but we'll be facing better guys than Wood and Jackson I think.
Totally behind DBB on the Puig thing, the guy's a fucking idiot and egomaniac, and is building up to a self destruct moment for sure, as I predicted.
But Donnie's in Lala land for real if he thinks he can pull a player like Puig out of the middle of the game, and have no one notice or ask questions about it....and want to know WHY? Get fucking real Donnie.
All that ability, and accomplishments so many, so quickly, and what sticks out most is his drama queen personality. Blah blazos.

He strikes you as intelligent? I think he might be borderline Gump...really childish. Brave, strong, gifted....but dumb as a board.

He was very cocky in the field and last to get to the field at the start. Doing his best Ricky Henderson. Plus he didn't attempt to break up the DP CC hit into before HanRams HR.

Donnie is a hoebag. Puig could have pimp slapped him and that wouldn't have been a good excuse to bench him.

Lol. I understand people who want the best players out there at all costs. But Don did what he felt would teach him a lesson that will pay off in the long run. It's over. Time to move on.
