I hope that one day, we will have a catcher who can bat over .100 and doesn't snatch at the ball like Thurman Munson and get interference called on him.

    Y'know, you're right.
I thought it was unreasonable just after I posted it.
How about CC for any team's AAA catcher ? Obviously we have zero to talk about in the minors...I think we would have heard something by now if we did.
    Anyone? Anyone?

I scoured our minor league rosters for catching specs and came up with John Cannon (currently on 7 day dl). He is our 3rd catcher in AAA. Cubbard is pretty bare. As for Olivo he's the only guy showing something/anything at the plate.

    i realize they're AAA numbers
but olivio's numbers are better than all of our other catchers combined... in 20 less at bats
    :gah:

    OLIVIO
    4 HR 17 RBI .417/.472/.750 (48 AB)

    AJ/FED/BUTERA (combined)
    0 HR 1 RBI .118/.200/.132 (68 AB)

imo, olivio should be brought up sooner rather than later

Olivo felt like he should have made the roster out of ST, he's focused and putting up numbers. FedEx and Butera are both dead weight right now. Can't we send Fed back down and bring up Olivo for a shot while AJ is out?

    how bad is it?
ramon hernandez (before getting dfa'd last season) put up way better numbers than our current backstops

    3 HR 6 RBI .208/.291.438 (48 AB)

    that is bad...

I was really hoping that FedEx would bear fruit but that appears folly today

    Crawford and League

Dodgers pick up all the disputed cash. After all, they have that fantastic tv contract.

I don't think the Pirates would do that unless they're going nowhere this season. Way too early for them to give up Martin for Crawford and League.

Russell Martin could be available for 'spects if the Bucs are out of it in July. Cleveland actually has a little surplus at C... Maybe Carlos Santana could be available for a price? Jason Castro in Houston will be arb eligible next year, could they shop him? Can we just buy the Royals and move Salvador Perez to LA?
