BZ has the right to his opinion. His views and ways he expresses himself aren't the same as yours. Leave him alone. Geeze. He has knowledge too. Just a different outlook. Sheesh

    Here, here, I agree TB.

BZ, promise me one thing, if the Dodgers win this year, you will change your avatar to a giant smiley face for a year. :D

I just want to win a fucking World Series already. This shit is going to hang over us every year until we do. I don't care how the fuck they do it, but just do it already. We have all the resources and then some.

Joba Chamberlain re-signed with Detroit. 1 million dollar base salary, 500k in incentives. Which leads me to believe there is no way the Dodgers were interested.

I'd say he's fitting in well here.

I'll reserve judgement until Koufax gets a crack at him.

I'm disappointed that we didn't get Moncada after everything I read and watched on him, but if the reasoning why they didn't is true, I'll be happy come July. Moncada could be a great talent someday, but due to timing, the team didn't really go out and spend lavishly on the Intl market early where you can potentially do something like sacrifice major signings for 2 years. Alvarez sounds like he could be a front of the rotation pitcher and we were already linked to another one of big Intl prospects. Would you rather have that 1 lottery ticket or 2? or better yet 3,4,5...? This gives the team the window to go out and line up some other big time talent and have a full year to work with grabbing anyone else that comes along. Granted if that doesn't come to fruition, I will certainly be a bit disappointed, but if it does, we are likely all going to be quite happy.

Likewise. I wanted Moncada, but the consistency is why I buy the reasoning. Everything they've done so far is with flexibility in mind and signing Moncada right now would've handcuffed them, thus the decision to stick to their guns. Moncada is candy..we all would've loved it, but what's on the menu right now is vegetables. I can harken back to 2010 and 2011 and see an organization with a shitty farm system and shitty big league club with no World Series aspirations whatsoever..that could always still be the case..I'm taking nothing for granted. Just gonna enjoy the ride.

Exactly. I commented on this July 3, 2014 right after the international signing period date

"In terms of international signings, id rather quantity over current quality. It's so hard to project these kids and most of these high priced signings don't work out. Hows medina doing, tirado? Sandoval?I think the dodgers have one of the best international (south America/central America) scouting so more players the better imo. Give me the next Urias kid that no org wants haha"

You can now add arru and Guerrero. Granted this wasn't the new management but imo the idea is still the same. What's the cost of missing out on future elite talent? I trust Andrew and zaidi and scouts in their identification of talent.

You're right, and considering AJ when he was in there, there was sometimes two auto outs.
But I'll bet you at the end of the season, we don't score as many runs total as we did last year. Which means that basically, Anderson and McCarthy have to be what we hope they will. And the BP.
Of course goes without saying, CK, Ryu, and Greinke coming back equalling at least, last season.
If Joc gets his HR swing going, it will be enormous for us.

It will get real interesting when it becomes time to finalize the 25 man roster.

Oh well lets see how this plays out.
    http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/mlb/...-wants-trade-not-starting-los-angeles-dodgers
GLENDALE, Ariz. -- The Los Angeles Dodgers were hoping they were done with the drama that comes with having an excess of well-paid outfielders after they traded Matt Kemp to the San Diego Padres over the winter, but the storyline could linger.

Andre Ethier, who was the odd man out for most of the second half of 2014, said he would prefer to play elsewhere if there isn't an everyday job open for him on the Dodgers.

Ethier is the longest-tenured Dodgers player, having broken in with the team in 2006. The Dodgers' tentative Opening Day plans are for Carl Crawford to start in left field, rookie Joc Pederson in center and Yasiel Puig in right, with Ethier the fourth outfielder.

    [+] Enlarge[IMG]
Stephen Dunn/Getty ImagesAndre Ethier, 32, batted .249 with four home runs and a .691 OPS in 331 at-bats last season.

"You're not wishing for it ever to end, but sometimes that opportunity takes you somewhere else," Ethier said. "I'm not going to do anything to sit here and force it. Hopefully it works itself out."

The Dodgers hope that Ethier's unhappiness with his role doesn't become a distraction because the excess-outfielder story became one of manager Don Mattingly's least favorite topics in 2014.

"I'm not even trying to go there, really," Mattingly said Tuesday. "We don't know what's going to happen over the next four to six weeks. We'll evaluate, see where we're at and deal with that when we get there."

Will he be allowed to compete against CC for left field?

It was cool back in November/December..the season was over..all good. But now spring training's here, so Ethier needs to shut up and let his play do the talking. If the media asks..sidestep it. Easy peasy. Fuckin Pau Gasol of the Dodgers..without the championships and half the talent..had the trade set up to boot his ass outta town, trade falls apart and here he is back in our faces. I don't even know why Ethier is getting ink about possibly being the 4th outfielder. What?..did SVS die? Especially after complaining about 300ABs. You know who produces with 300ABs/as a 4th outfielder? SVS.
