    Keith Laws Updated top 50

    5. Corey Seager, SS/3B, Los Angeles Dodgers

Seager looks like he's a year or less away from being ready to join the big club, and while I respect the team's optimism about his ability to stay at shortstop, I don't share it. I'd put him at third base (where I expect him to be a plus defender) and, in 2016, newly signed infielder Hector Olivera at second.

    9. Julio Urias, LHP, Los Angeles Dodgers

Once a pudgy, sub-6-foot 16-year-old who dominated the Midwest League, Urias is now a 6-2, 205-pound 18-year-old whose stuff can get big league hitters out but whose command and control need more time. The Culiacan native has been on tight innings limits the past two years, but should be able to work up to 120 or so innings this year in Double-A, and I don't think a late-season call-up for some bullpen work is out of the realm of possibility.

    28. Joc Pederson, OF, Los Angeles Dodgers

Free at last, Pederson should be the Dodgers' primary center fielder this year, and he has had better at-bats this spring, at least looking more like he had a plan to get himself into a count in which he could drive something, as opposed to the passive approach he had last September when he looked overmatched. He's my pick for the non-Cub NL Rookie of the Year this season.

The top 3 prospects will all be obviously interesting in there own way (Urias being stretched out will be huge in terms of development) but I'm really hoping the prospect depth behind them gets even better. I know that sounds obvious, of course I want Dodgers prospects to get better, but I wanna see the development of Grant Holmes, Verdugo, Anderson, and the like, not just to see if they can fit on a future Dodgers team, but to see if they become good enough to scouts to try and obtain an impact piece at the deadline without giving up the 3 the Dodgers aren't gonna give up. Dodgers not only need prospects to sustain a great team year in and year out, but having a farm that is at least considered to have 5-6 impact players can make for a much easier trade deadline, in case we need that pitcher.

that triple A team is gonna be fun as hell to watch. Lots of depth means you could see an infield of E. Hernandez, Barney, Erisbel, then Olivera... maybe Seager later. Schebler and Heisey in the OF... Barnes at C. Then ya got Zach Lee and Weiland in the rotation, with Erik Bedard and Freddy Garcia. Bullpen ya got Mike Adams, with anyone else that doesn't make it but gets sent down like Baez, Yimi, Liberatore, etc. (I'm guessing on some of these) but yeah, that team would have loads of guys you wouldn't be mad at being on the MLB club and instead are in Triple A. that's awesome

More of law on pederson. (#3 on top 5 rookie impacts this year, after Bryant and Soler)

The Dodgers center fielder is a power/speed player without as much bat as Soler or Bryant, but he has more defensive value. Like Soler, Pederson fell victim to the MLB strike zone last season (11 K's in 28 AB), and to succeed in the majors he'll have to become more aggressive within the strike zone and make better contact.

Also, anyone know where Justin Chigbogu is? Is he still with us?

One correction to the OP. Chris Anderson started for Tulsa tonight. Pitched decently, 5 innings, 2 runs, 6 K's 3 BB's. Probably going to win as the offense is putting up some runs. Seager is 2 for 4, 3 ribbies.

Looks like I should travel and go watch De Leon before he's promoted. Great numbers, now wanna hear what the Dodgers think of him.

    10 K's and 1 walk though, damn

I'm probably a bit off but it feels like we got more value from Dee than Kemp with the off season trades.
