Joc Pederson, Adrian Gonzalez and Yasmani Grandal are your position player All-Stars from the Dodgers. Zack Greinke is going as well

    Cool!

Kershaw on the final vote. Madison Bumgarner is absurdly an all star. Had no business making it, but did.

There were like 6-8 other pitchers more deserving than Bumgarner. Kershaw is like the 9th pitcher more deserving than him though.

I'm really really really happy that Joc and especially Yasmani made it, they really deserved it. Of course Greinke and AGon being there is no surprise.

But Kershaw not making it on the initial roster is a fucking joke. Bumgarner over Kershaw is absolutely insanity. Fucking bullshit. Dodgers fans better not be pussies and vote Kershaw in the final vote.

Kershaw not having an elite Kershaw year is still a very good year that I feel people are extremely overlooking. ERA at 3, number one in K's, amazing peripherals. Just bad run support

I think it's funny the top 15 players in the NL WAR for positional players all made roster, yet Kershaw is #2 in the NL WAR for pitchers and he didn't make the initial roster.

Normally I wouldn't want a Dodger to do the HR Derby, but I think Joc might be the most perfect candidate for the contest in MLB, his swing is perfect for the Derby and there is no worry of it getting fucked up haha

Dodgers deserved a couple more All-Stars

    WHO GOT PICKED:

Zack Greinke: The only question was when -- not if -- he would be on the team. Now, we’ll have to wait a few days to find out if he will throw the first pitch in Cincinnati. Will the NL starter be Greinke, who leads the majors with a 1.48 ERA, or Max Scherzer, who has some peripheral numbers that are even more impressive? Neither call is a bad one. Greinke might be the craftiest pitcher in the major leagues. Hitters sometimes wonder if he’s making up pitches -- or, at least, varying speeds to a surprising degree -- while on the mound. But he also still has plenty of raw stuff to get guys out. He’s at the top of his game and a no-brainer for the NL roster.

Yasmani Grandal: There aren’t many catchers who can hit anymore, which is part of the reason the Dodgers parted with one of the most popular players on their roster, Matt Kemp, to get him. Grandal’s .881 OPS is second only to Buster Posey among NL catchers, and he has helped Dodgers pitchers get strikes called this season because of his ability to frame pitches. He’s a first-time All-Star, and it’s hard to argue he’s not deserving.

Joc Pederson: Ten years ago, there’s no way he would have gotten in with a .234 batting average, but nowadays everybody is more focused on the numbers that matter. Pederson is a well above-average center fielder, an on-base machine (.353 OBP) and has slugged 20 home runs and hit 12 doubles. Baseball is enjoying an infusion of young talent, and Pederson is part of that wave. Look for him to be part of Monday night’s Home Run Derby. When he hits them, they tend to go a long way.

Adrian Gonzalez: At the end of April, he looked like a lock. Nobody expected him to hit .383 all season, but for a while it looked like he might fritter away his chances after he started slumping around mid-May. In the end, his steady production won the day. Only two NL first basemen -- Paul Goldschmidt and Anthony Rizzo -- have a superior OPS to Gonzalez’s .884.

    WHO DESERVED TO BE PICKED:

Clayton Kershaw: Sorry, but putting him in the Final Five vote is an insult. A three-time Cy Young winner, he probably should have already started two All-Star games by now. In successive seasons, the NL manager picked Matt Harvey and Adam Wainwright though Kershaw had superior numbers both seasons. Now, he has to wait four days before learning whether he’s headed to Cincinnati or on vacation for three days. While his win-loss record (5-6) and ERA (3.08) aren’t what they were, he still leads the major leagues with 147 strikeouts. If the game were really about winning, there’s no doubt Kershaw makes it. The players missed on this one. He’ll probably make them pay in the second half.

Justin Turner: He’s a victim of two things: his label as a scrappy utility player and the fact he doesn’t have the qualifying at-bats to show up on leader boards. According to his WAR (3.2), he has been the Dodgers’ most valuable position player. He’s become a better hitter -- .312 batting average, .943 OPS -- than a lot of the guys who will be playing in the All-Star game and, at 30, he may never get a better chance. But he can kick back over the break knowing he has established himself as one of the most improved players in baseball. The power -- 11 home runs -- is the new thing, but he has always been a tough at-bat. He should be in Cincinnati.

I completely agree about Turner, the kid has had a rocking year and if only Donnie Dumb Dumb didn't automatically sit him after every game where he got a hit then he'd have enough AB's to qualify.

I can see the NL losing based on Donnie Dum Dum giving Bochy advice and BB listening out of pity.

Dodger fans usually suck when it comes to voting, so I'm not holding my breathe for CK. He absolutely should be there though. Turner and Kenley have strong cases also.

Greinke should be the starting pitcher, but I wouldn't be surprised if Bochy threw his hillbilly out on the mound.
