And it remains to be seen if he will have another season like it. I have my doubts. Maybe he's a one year wonder. But only time will tell.

He basically did the same thing as 2014 when he flamed out in the second half. We'll see if he starts out that hot again in 2016.

You do realize, of course, that paying 12.5million dollars to trade them for a rental and a utility player has the potential of being and all time historically fucked up deal, right?

Doesn't really matter what they do or don't do....people will bash anyone that has anything negative to say about them. With that said....

    D. But that's judging them based off the roster as of today. Call me in a couple of weeks.

and paying 28 million for another trade, and 48 for a made-of-glass POS on rehab, and jerking off for historically fragile players and.....................

One's gotta wonder when Walter is going to sit him down and ask him WTF he's doing?

I get it if the team gets better but the fact is we were a pitcher and a reliever away from being OTT a couple years ago and now we're 2 maybe 3 pitchers, a 2B, a couple relievers away and we're all still wondering WTF they're going to do with the outfield.....

They want a < 200MM payroll and to sell us ALL on their brilliant 3-4 year plan while they ingest that TW $$$$$$ and raise ticket prices up to 40%....

Keep your eyes open, gents, is all I'm sayin'

All time and historically is a pretty huge stretch. Especially since 10 of the 12 was because of Dan Haren.

Kike was awesome last year, Hatcher proved to be solid in a greater sample, Howie had a good year, and we still have Barnes.

Barnes went straight to our #1 catching prospect which until recently we were woefully short in. Hatcher had a very solid 2nd half. Until he got hurt Howie was playing very well. I find it funny when people talk about all the salaries we are still responsible for as a criticism and then want the FO to spend at all costs. Oh well too early in the hurt about not getting Zack I guess.

Great point. The "futurists" won't like it though...they can always use the future and "what will be" as an arguement, never addressing the fact that it is infinitely movable... every year...and use it as reasoning for the results...at least 27 times, about.

I look forward to plenty but going on 30 years wout a WS appearance makes it difficult to project out 3 or 4 years

They've been pretty shit. Didn't we fail to sign a top draft pick too? Obviously got to give them some time, but Neds legacy seems to be quite sound currently.

Like to see some of these international drafts make an impact over the next few years though.

In theory you are correct but only if this regime had been in power for the last 5 years. Whenever you constantly change ownership and philosopies you're going to be in for disappointments. I want the WS as bad as anyone I just don't think spending and spending is going to get it done. Balance Daniel-san Balance.

We got back a decent return. A good, young super utility player, 75% of 1 yr of Kendrick (who turns into a draft pick) and another solid prospect or so. But when you trade a mid 20s, cheap, mvp candidate whose offensive expertise is exactly what your team is lacking, and your team falters, people have the right to question the move. Then again, it wouldn't surprise me if dee hits 250 next year. I hold it as a negative against them, but I don't want their heads on a plate. Still among the best at running the numbers over.

Yeah I think they've done fine, keep the future in tact while getting to the playoffs in their 1st year.

But more to be said about what happens in the next few days or weeks.
