I understand, but you have to understand..."we" ain't "me". I was Carolina born and Carolina bred. The good lord willin' I'll be Carolina dead. I give a fuck not for Rams nor Lakers, and moreover, I give a fuck not for pro basketball as a whole, it sucks ass. As irish said, not many venture forth outside this forum, and by bringing those threads here you make it a certainty that even fewer will. You are by definition shrinking the site, not growing it. If that's what you want then fine. I won't argue with that, but if that is the intent then you should immediately contract the Lakers forum as it now serves no purpose.
Per wikipedia.. "Deliverance was shot primarily in Rabun County in northeastern Georgia. The canoe scenes were filmed in the Tallulah Gorge southeast of Clayton and on the Chattooga River. This river divides the northeastern corner of Georgia from the northwestern corner of South Carolina. Additional scenes were shot in Salem, South Carolina." All right all right now don't get so picky there Codge but I see NOTHING about the film on Wikipedia attributing North Carolina for anything.
per imdb... I went to college at Western Carolina University in the tiny town of Cullowhee, NC...seven miles from Sylva, so I knew this. Btw, Sylva isn't THAT dilapidated, even back when I was there. I actually lived in a hotel room in Sylva for one quarter (before the semester system started), the old style hotel made of brick in the middle of the town, with high ceilings and plaster walls. Thanks DSP, I had almost forgotten about that period in college. Couldn't have had anything to do with the drugs, right?
Btw, I thought I remembered that some of the white-water scenes were filmed at Nantahala, but I could be mistaken about that.
The toll booth scenes were filmed in Jersey.... BTW...I saw a doc on where those actors are now (and what they look like) now, and the banjo playing kid looks better than Burt Reynolds, Ned Beatty, Ron whoever, and even John Voight. Of course they are all about 75+, but the the kid looks OK. Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs man....Jersey banjoin' at it's best.
The best post you have ever made imo. Amusing, that when I gave a shit at all, I was a Lakers fan, and they were in a different state. Haven't given a shit about the gang bangers in many ,many years. Getting a little intetested again the the Raiders, who I used to love. I hope they are good again, so I can concentrate on a possible winner for once, when I forsake 60 years of being a Dodger/bb fan as the cancerous DH arrives in the NL. The future looks dull... Glad you wrote what you did...there's plenty of places to post about bball other than here.
You maybe right. They used to have Barry Zito playing guitar on the big screen. Might as well put a banjo in his hands and make him play in the dugout.
