you can either look at things realistically or believe the fantasy
the fantasy is that Trump did this to keep america safe from terrorist immigrants
the reality is that Trump like all politicians is doing something that he believes will pay off for him politically
we know that it is a shamwow thrown over our eyes to suck up all our salty tears
that its not really something to make us safer
but for a lot of people it makes them 'feel' safer
and for the Trump base that is manna from heaven
its kryptonite for the dems but in trumps mind he doesnt need the dems to get reelected in 4 years
so you make this fake terror ban list that will only affect a tiny amount of people and you get all the free pub you want and energize your base
but you arent so stupid to piss off your big business saudi oil princes or your military strongman with nukes in pakistan
the fact that the biggest terrorist MVP's come from those two all star teams is irrelevant to the politics that actually plays

 

and trump is perfect at that sleight of hand manipulation
while everyone talks about all the shit he says, all his bombast, and his twitter stuff... he is putting in work without much media interference
dude is a lot smarter than folks give him credit for
evil genius smart though lol

 

I have never seen anyone manipulate the media, and their legion of useful idiots in this way before.

Not sure if there is a master plan or not. But this whole thing could blow up in his (and our) face in a really bad way.

 

Problem with that thought is that government causes most of the threats to our safety.

 

all government starts in chaos, evolves as markets are formed, turns into a democracy/communism, and devolves into tyranny before turning back to chaos.
there is no sacrificing one for another, there is no alternative, there is no choice, there is only time.
and time says where you are on the scale
conservatism is about wanting to slow time down, even if it means keeping some things that are not that great
progressivism is about wanting to speed time up, even if it means getting into some things that are not that great
conservatism is the devil you know, going to bed with the girl you brought to the dance
progressivism is calling an unknown devil lady luck and taking her out for a spin on the STD carousel
because the faster you go the faster you get to tyranny and chaos
then again if you are at tyranny already then chaos may seem like the way to go
because chaos can only last for so long before markets start to form again and the cycle renews
cuz people gotta eat

 

I just worry about the amount of extremism we're seeing from both sides lately.

 

Just like the old administration, the new one likes killing children.
A US Navy SEAL was also killed the raid. Terrible waste of life on both sides.

I don't pretend to have all the answers, nor do I deny that in many cases, terrorists hide themselves among innocents.

But the US probably shouldn't be bombing and operating in random countriess that we are not at war with. We are making terrorists faster than we can kill them with all the destruction. For every bad guy we kill, we make two more by killing nearby innocents.

Think how angry we all get when you think about the Ft. Hood shooter, or the San Bernardino shooter. We are doing shit like that with drones nearly every day in Yemen, Syria, Iraq and a few other places.

We are killing our own servicemen in those places too...And I'm not so sure that their sacrifices are accomplishing anything.

 

Well...Not just the last guy, but the guy before that too.

I don't know. Maybe cutting back (or stopping) the intervention for a while might be better. What we're doing now isnt working very well.
