Take Kemp and Ethier out of our lineup and Zimmerman and Werth out of theirs and their lineup is better.

But Kemp and Ethier and Zimmerman and Werth back and ours is better. Their more balanced, but our stars are better than their stars. Balanced doesn't always mean better.

None of you get what I'm saying so whatever. I'm not saying Ellis and Loney are good. I'm saying Ethier and Kemp are SO good it makes up for it. Doesn't make up for it to make us have an elite offense. I never once said that. But it makes up for it enough that it can keep our offense up to par with a lot of other teams, the Nationals being one of them.

Nobody said that though. They are saying you can't rely on two guys ALL THE TIME.

What happens when one of them slumps? Just lose every game? Because the stuff around Kemp and Dre is SO BAD (Yes, SO BAD) it's really scary. I don't know how you can construct such shit all over the field.

That's true, but you also have to take into consideration that more balanced means more stable and a better shot to avoid the crazy peaks and valleys we see offensively with this team. So in that way even though overall MAYBE the Dodgers edge out the Nats in runs, scoring a little less but more consistently could be the more effective way...

Why is having a team full of slightly above average hitters better than a team with two great hitters and mostly below average ones? If our OPS and runs scored are higher, out offense is better.

I think we can all agree there is "room for improvement" on this team. But as long as we can keep putting up wins whether it's a weak schedule, luck, or because Kemp keeps mashing at with a 1.500 OPS for another couple weeks - we could be in a very good place after Kasten and company take over the team.

I don't buy that. Runs are runs. The way this team is built (whether intentionally or unintentionally) we're going to win games when Kemp and Ethier hit. So yeah some games we'll lose 12-0. and they'll go 0-8. But we'll also win some games like the games against Pittsburgh where Kemp and Dre are gonna hit 3 homers and drive in 7 runs.

Today's loss was what it was. Today was a clear indicator of what happens when Ned Colletti is left to create a roster. Uribe? Loney? Harriston? The fact is we are a one trick pony right now. Rivera is not the same guy as the second half of last season. Seems to be a Dodger issue. We sign guys based on a few months or a year and they fucking suck. I do not need to give a list. We need one more legit hitter who can actually help protect Kemp. We need one more hitter. As much as I believe we need another pitcher, we need a hitter guys. Instead of Hamilton--who is a question mark in sobriety, injuries, and cost--I have two other options. I suggest Napoli and one of Quentin or BJ Upton. What do you think?

Noboy really says that either. I did say I think the Nationals will score some runs against us, yes.

But I am not even talking about the Nats anymore. I am waaaay past that.

I don't want either of the scenarios. I don't want below average with two great...and I also don't want a bunch of above average. I want 2 great, and a couple hitters better than utter shit.

Well so do I. But that's not where we are right now. But that doesn't mean we can't win with what we have.

It's just a scary thought that we are around 15th in the league in runs/game, and to maintain that Kemp might have to hit 90 HRs with 170 runs scored and 220 RBI's (his current pace).

If you are going to lose might as well lose big. We are being carried by Kemp/Eithier but that it what is supposed to happen. I see the NedCo bashing started early on this roster, amazing. There is alot of room for improvement but that doesn't mean it cannot or won't happen. Good home stand coming up, cannot wait to see Stras/Kershaw Friday.

We have been bashing him well before the season started. It isn't reactionary. It's been consistent.

I am thinking if you go with legit hitters who have proven they can do something, you give your team a chance to win with the ENTIRE lineup.
Pathetically, Ned has handicapped us for another year at 3rd after this. This gaping FUCKING hole has hurt us for the past 5 years. Yes, Blake helped but Ned fucked us forever on that deal. For that alone should his ass be gone. There are NO third baseman on the market and we have NONE in our system. When you look at the future, you begin to really see how badly Frank and Ned have screwed this team. We have a plethora of good arms (and a few legit ones) but no offensive players. I think our only shot insofar as third is concerned is to HOPE (and it will not happen) that Wright is not extended and they do not put in their option or trading our pitching for a young 3rd baseman.

If we are looking to the future, we have SVS, Fedex, and Castallanos (and possibly Sands). Personally, I am worried. It is time to trade for legit, young players or Kemp is going to be pitched around for a long ass time.
