Images work for me. I think you guys are just doing it wrong or something. But for serious, we are using a 3+ year old version of the forum software. We have the new software running on the alpha site. Upgrading would probably fix most of the weird problems people are having with site...and create a bunch of new ones. But I'd rather have bugs on a supported version of the forum software. The problem is that none of the old themes are compatible with the new software. I'd really like to preserve the look of the site, but we have some work to do to keep it looking the same before we switch.
I think we are ready for the switch Craig. Tell me what night you want to do it and I will have the theme ready. At least in basic form. We can add smilies and embellishments later.
We are not ready for the switch. We need at least the functional equivalent of the Dodger Blue style before the switch. I don't want DSP to look like something that was cobbled together in 5 minutes and is semi-functional--which is what the alpha site looks like right now. Smiles and all that aren't a big deal, but we do need the style right.
personally i just wanted to be sure that you guys knew there was an actual problem not a big deal for me and would prefer you are ready and yes keeping the style is a good thing as far as not doing it right i'm running chrome on a mac and it all used to work? seems like a pretty large group of us is having the problem idk what we might be doing wrong
I have no problems with the emoji issues. Besides, it prevents Irish from inventing some truly horrid and perverted animated emojis.
I was just kidding about that. I'm sure it's not your fault but I can't seem to duplicate the problem, and I'm not seeing permission or database errors, so kinda hard to debug.
yeah and its not the biggest deal either the site is great w a few exceptions sure it will all get worked out in time carry on lads
Just for informational reasons, at some point the IMG and emoji problems happened all at once for me on multiple platforms, whether it was Apple Safari, Firefox or Chrome on Windows 10, Android OS or iOS on multiple platforms (tablets or cellphones). And for good measure, it doesn't work on a Mac Pro 15 inch running the latest OS. I don't think its a device or OS issue....it seems to be something from the database itself I think there was a similar problem years back which requires a switch to a new host or server for the images? Something like that Not an expert as you can tell.
i see the images on my iphone, mackbook pro and ipad on either safari or firefox problem for me (as you know craig) is i sometimes, randomly get locked out of threads
