I feel better about Buehler starting this game than I did 24 hours ago about him starting today. (i'm confused)

That said, they basically made this a must win, as they are SCREWED should they have to play tuesday.

If starting Buehler tomorrow means we are screwed on Tuesday if we lose, then that means if we held onto Buehler for Tuesday we would have been screwed tomorrow.

I take Buehler tomorrow if those are the two choices.

The logic most people had going in is you wanted arguably your best arm available for a game you have to win, that's not tomorrow.

But if you win tomorrow you get two days off and HFA against a Braves team that I don’t think anyone thinks is very good

I get what you're saying. But...
If we have to play that WC game, we are screwed anyways, imo.
A win tomorrow secures 2 days off, no travel, HFA, the 2 seed, the weakest opponent, and sets up our rotation and bullpen nicely.
    Tomorrow is the season, imo.

I don't disagree with anything you said, but a matter of preference doesn't change the fact that they will be leaving themselves quite exposed should they not win, and when you are guaranteed another game, those are thing that deserve consideration.

I gusss my argument is, if you’re gonna have a Buehler game and a bullpen game and that’s gonna be the next two, why not pitch Buehler first and you might not need the bullpen game?

In your scenario there’s definitely a bullpen game, in mine there may not need to be one.

Trying to figure out when I should take an hour lunch to watch the game. Not sure if I want the first hour, the middle, or towards the end

    That's fair.

I always go to the worst case scenario.

    my vote...

Of course being locked out completely I'm going for mlb.com on one screen and whatever I'm 'working' on gets the other monitor.

So excited yet so annoyed because of the time. With traffic, I usually get home at 6(ET)....my road rage will be up a notch tomorrow.

Would call out sick but they'd know it's 100% because of the Dodgers.

I get that, but I’m not a fan of that mentality in a normal case. If this was game 6 & 7 of a series I wouldn’t skip my best rested pitcher just to have him in a “must-win”. But in this case winning tomorrow is SOOO much better than winning on Tuesday.
    • Chance to win at home
    • We get a better opponent in the NLDS
    • HFA in the NLDS (and NLCS if the WC makes it there)
    • Extra day off
    • 2 less travel days
    • We would be NL West champs (this is somehow going under the radar)
    • And fuck the Rockies
Play to win. Don’t play to not lose.

Would you make this an “All Hands On Deck” game? Or risk the WC game for that?

    All hands on deck.

We are basically working with a 40-man roster tomorrow. If we wind up in the WC game we get a 25-man roster just for that game, and we can change it for the NLDS. In short, we should be able to go “all hands on deck” without it hurting too much, so go for it.

All I can say is THANK GAWD Kershaw is NOT available for either of the next two games!

Unbelievable I know, but the concept of Father being undefeated coupled with his inherent lack of stones when it matters most would have certainly spelled seasonal doom. At least now, we're like LLoyd and Mary.... :D :D :D
