    • Rosenthal is reporting that the Pads are meeting with Harper and Boras today. Also, they have been meeting with other teams in recent days for 2nd and 3rd interviews. He also says that indications are that Harper is nowhere close to signing.
    • Word this morning on Machado is that indications are that he too is not close to signing. These things can come together fast, but it does not seem like they will.
    • Padres are said to be in the advanced stages of trade discussions to acquire J.T. Realmuto from the Marlins. Morosi has said that the Dodgers have continued to stay in contact with the Marlins, but based on a couple of reports the Pads seem to be in the drivers seat. Joe Frisaro says the Dodgers and Marlins have discussed Keibert Ruiz in trade talks. Something to remember from a year ago, the Dodgers were rumored to be second on Yelich, Ozuna and Stanton as a lot of eyebrows were raised with the returns the Marlins received. One thing that I heard after all was said and done was that the Marlins simply did not like our farm and some assumed the Dodgers were kept around on name recognition alone. I am getting to the point of thinking this could be happening again. If Ruiz or Verdugo really have been floated and the Marlins aren't biting, then there is something more to all of this as those are some highly regarded prospects. Now if the Pads come in with that one rumored trade of Mejia and Morejon or Senzel led one from the Reds, then nevermind about everything I just said.
    • Morosi is reporting that the Dodgers and Brewers have circled back around to the Indians about Kluber, but it does not sound like talks have gone anywhere.
    • The Padres have been calling about Moustakas and Marwin Gonzalez along with Harper and Machado. Some speculation that they are floating pillow contracts to the better remaining FA's.
Based on the rumors we keep hearing, it is even more apparent that the FO is focused only on Big Game hunting at this juncture. They do not appear to be interested in marginal upgrades as those can be done much more cheaply in season.

According to Heyman, the Dodgers are fading fast in Realmuto talks. Now seen as an outlier compared to 4 other teams at this time.

I'm in same boat. I would like to have Realmuto, but also have hopes that Barnes is going to be closer to the guy that he was in 2017 rather than who we saw in 2018. The Red Sox and Astros have shown that you don't need a superstar catcher to win. Would I like to see Realmuto in Dodger Blue? Hell yes, but if it is going to cost Verdugo and Ruiz.... ehhhhhh

Marlins using the Dodgers as leverage. Time to leak like a mofo so the Marlins don’t receive as much as they want

Did anybody catch today's episode of MLB Now? Former Angels GM Tony Reagans was on. Dude sounded like he knew nothing about baseball. No insight whatsoever.

There are a couple more in the MiLB section of the site, but I thought these were some interesting quotes to keep an eye on. Those are some high remarks on the Dodgers catching prospects from FanGraphs and Keith Law. The one thing to keep an eye on is what Keith Law said in regards to Realmuto and Ruiz. He has a connection into the FO or the MiLB scouting department of the Dodgers as he is usually high on guys before they blow up on the scene the following year. *He legit put me on blast once for simply asking if meant something else in a players repertoire. ... he's kind of a dick* I think this probably means that we were offering a band of lesser prospects for Realmuto which is why things never seemed to reach the goal line. Wonder if the Dodgers are really just trying to help the Marlins out....
