LOL what is that dude complaining about, that 92 meatball was down the plate

Amazing game by Lux, but man the pitching hopefully can settle back in. Kenley is definitely scary and he’s gonna be a 90-92 mph fastball pitcher with no arm side command so uh, hope we get lucky!

He probably doesn't try it if Bellinger doesn't fail to back up second and compounds it with a lazy throw back into the infield.

Guess I should add he looks shitty at the plate again, too.

Watching Kenley last night was brutal. I know he’s looked “better” this year, but I don’t think he’s looked dominant by any means and his early success was smoke and mirrors to large extent. And last night... oh man, last night. We aren’t going to make it through the playoffs, I’m not sure we make it through a series, pitching Kenley in every close game. We’re going on our 3rd year now of just running Kenley out there as our closer when he no longer has it. This is an incredibly fun team to watch, but if we don’t win the WS (again) because we keep running Kenley out there... man...

Great to see Lux looking a bit more confident at the plate. The org handing him the reins at 2B was the right choice. They say it takes about 100-200 PA's to really have a feel for what the big leagues is all about and he just surpassed that 100 PA this weekend. The numbers are fluffed up from last night, but somehow in 32 career games, he has a WAR of 1.2 on BBREF. Time to let the kid play and see what we have here. He's the #2 prospect in baseball for a reason.

As for the pen. It is looking shaky as fuck and Kenley has looked terribly lately. Starters need to start getting us deeper in games or we are done in 3 even with this impressive roster. Also, the fuck is with this RISP shit again? Gotta bring these mother fuckers in again. Too much happening with 2 outs, need to get the rally started sooner for fucks sake.

Hopefully his success at the plate will translate to a better performance in the field, too. He's been a little shaky.

Maybe the present utter douchebaggery of the BP will peak at the perfect time, and Jensen will get his undulating cutter ability along with that.
I think the only pitcher on this staff, for a myriad of reasons, is Kershaw who can give us a professional effort most of the time. Can't blame the kids , Urias is just a study in frustration.
Buehler is possible of complete domination for a few innings, then falls completely apart and gives.up 4 ,along with the inevitable HR.
I guess everyone will blame it on his blister or whatever, guy gets a huge pass because he throws 100 mph sometimes. I honestly don't know if he deserves that, though.
But, imo, his inconsistency is a trait now, blister or not, not the exception.
I read so much about Jansen and his fabulousity, and his tours for fans of his home island Curacao...I think he might have a career as the latter.
But I don't get that " it's over" feeling when he comes marching in and we're not up by at least 4 runs.
He's not the closer template any more, for sure.
And really hasn't been for a while.
Just keep on hittin' I guess. Hit, hit, hit. How else?
Got to when the staff gonna give up the runs like it has lately.
    Batting practice.

and davey will ride him straight through the playoffs however long they last because "he's the guy that got us here" and its HIS role
whatever changes he's made to his now average stuff has clearly been figured out if a team like AZ can swat him around
all that bullshit about him just focusing his results is just bullshit
and instead of giving Brusdar or idc who a shot at shutting down games its always going to be give the ball to toomgis
i truly admire the guys fortitude and desire but i'd admire it a whole lot more if he would just contribute and we could all stop pretending the guy is an elite closer
might as well stick Barnes in the clean up slot the rest of the year cause this refusal to acknowledge reality is really stale

It's just frustrating because it feels like we have been on a loop for a few years now with this. He's done nothing since 2017 to earn his role, but yet here we are. This isn't just a Dave thing, this is the FO too, they need to pull the plug already and go to Closer-by-committee (everyone should do this). Also someone needs to monitor Kenley in the bullpen when he's warming up, if there's no movement on his pitches that day then he needs to sit down. Last night he had no velocity, no movement. Spotty command, it wasn't terrible but he couldn't challenge anyone because everything was so bad. We can't have outings like that in the playoffs.
