on that shit strike three call on taylor, roberts should have been out of the dugout and in the plate umpire’s face
that’s part of a manager’s job — to defend your players
but no… just sit there with your arms crossed on the rail, pretending not to notice
    fucken idiot

The game is not what it was because of the incompetent umpires. The game is being diluted by the pitch calling rampant in MLB.
It brings to mind, having the superimposed box, if this was how bad it always was, or just this recent group of assholes we are forced to watch.
Because, the degree of garbage out there is overwhelming, and baseball using the replay for so long now for pretty much everything else is proof of the acute awareness of the lack of quality.
And even a LLer knows what the K zone is supposed to be.
Either fix it, which can be done now no problem, or take away the boxes, which only act as a detriment to the game as fans watch daily the ongoing farce of blatant blown calls.
Enjoyment of the game in the present environment is being turned into anger and frustration. They can put men on second in extra innings, change the ball, build tiny band box stadiums, change RP rules, etc.
Myriad changes, but it all eventually means little in the long run when the core of the game is so fucking disesased like it is.

The narrative now is that Bauer is suspect 1 on ball doctoring. They’re even saying his spin rate fell on this past Atlanta game.

I seriously hope Verlander and Cole are not left off the hook.

i think he's suspect 1 because he blew the whistle
he's not even denying he's involved and is using any advantage to compete
say whatever you want about the guy but he's an enigma and its going to be interesting to see how it plays out
this has been going on in plain sight for so long now it makes steroid use look tame

But is enigmatic persona what we are looking for?
I'd rather have a guy who is still the CY level pitcher, and is a winner for.us, rather than one who blows the whistle on himself.
In fact, enigma or not, seems kind of flat out stupid to me.
I'm seeing a guy who's command seems diminished somewhat, and is giving up the HR ball at a pretty good rate.
For 45 million a year, let him shut up and win for us, then when he's done with that, write a book or something.
