For me it's only tough because of Seager last year. When he's right, he's got the type of bat that can flat out carry a team, as he showed in the regular season and even more so in the post. While CT3 has had a couple of key multi-homer games recently, I can't expect that from him over the long run.

But man, one of them is Mr Durable and the other is made of paper. And one plays multiple positions and plays them well, while the other is barely serviceable at one. Yeah, I think I'd choose CT as well.

i'm w Irish its not even close
CT is very important to the team identity and it seems like Seager is just always coming off injuries we the exception of 20
borass is going to want 30x10 for Corey and i have no idea where CT's market is
but i say pay the man

Just feel that things are not going tne Dodgers way at all, given the SD determination in the market, and the continuing division excellence of the Giants. Even with their own substantial injuries, too.
Coupled with ridiculous injury stints by Betts, Kershaw and Seasger, each one far exceeding what we were told was their respective scheduled return to the team...along with sexual toughguy, that loud mouthed freak Bauer, it definitely appears to be too much to overcome.
The one constant of the manager is a given liability, but the team has risen above that, at least once in a freakish season never before witnessed in the annals of the sport.
But that team is not this team on the field now...I don't think the FO will match SD, or SF either in deadline moves. but you can reasonably fathom why..
They kind of blew everyone else out of the water with the spectacular Bauer signing, and got pissed on by the BB gods behind it.
He was the supreme prize, we went out and got it, and are not going unpunished for it.
Luck seems elsewhere this time round...

pretty sure they can void out his contract at some point
    sweep SF at home
use the money to extend Max
give ss to Trea and never look back
Keibert, Josiah and Lux to the Nats

Seager is our biggest chip, but that’s not gonna get Scherzer.

We also can’t hit for average, and I’m not sure what the priority is other than a solid closer and new manager.

    per mark feinsand …
It remains to be seen if Max Scherzer will be traded, but a source said the pitcher “strongly prefers the West Coast” to waive his no-trade clause. Given the state of the NL West, he could be the difference-maker in that race if he landed with the Dodgers, Giants or Padres.

Nationals have to love that...a bidding war between three divisional rivals.

If we are really serious about Scherzer, I say we go all in and try to get Trea Turner too.

I'd be more interested in Trae Turner than any other name i've seen listed for the deadline. That dude is an absolute stud(100% homo) and our achilles heel in a lot of playoff games over the years has been lack of hitting.

I know I sound greedy as hell but I've been a huge fan of his for years and have always thought he was one of the most underrated players in baseball.

Losing May for the season was a big blow too, because with him we'd be able to avoid some of these BP starts that deplete the pen and force us to carry crap relievers. But yeah, Bauer hurt us the most. And the continued ineptitude of Jansen via Roberts. We coulda/shoulda been in 1st place right now. In the end, Roberts' stubbornness is going to cost us our division streak, and our chance of going back to back. I agree it just feels the FO will not match anything SD or Gnats do and it's going to be some other team's year. Just any team but SF, please. Nor Asterisks for that matter. I'd even prefer Padres over those two (threw up a little in my mouth saying that).

I could see them moving Lux and Ruiz...but don't see using Gray as a Trea chip. Not now. Kid looks pretty polished, imo. I wish Honey was still around.
I really think we'll be underwhelming this deadline...what with Machado, Yu and Bauer as spectacular fails, just seems they'll go mediocre.
Or, they call and ask Zaidi who to get, and get a fuck you from him...

    @dougherty_jesse

Trea Turner tested positive for coronavirus and was removed from tonight's game because of MLB protocols, the Nationals just announced.

@jonmorosi Sources: Max Scherzer trade talks have continued to intensify, and those close to the conversations believe a deal could be reached by late tonight. The Giants, Dodgers, and Padres are among the top suitors, but other clubs are involved. @MLBNetwork @MLB
