maybe he already said fuck it by bowing out for game 6
i mean, why would he risk injury pitching for a guy he won't be playing for next year?"

No definitive answer to that, not at this time anyway, but that certainly crossed my mind, too.
Or maybe realized he wasn't 100%, and wouldn't give his team the best chance just because you're Max Scherzer...
He wasn't right in his relief appearance, either. Not at all...got a little lucky.
Going out there and getting scrambled could have theoretically cost him millions...I think he cost himself a few already, actually.
Or Dave did, depending on your viewpoint...

Max definitely had the ability to shutdown the appearance in game 5 vs SF where he threw a grueling 13 pitches. I believe it was Max who was quoted as saying he told Dave he was available.

Still amazed that a guy known as a "psycho competitor" bowed out of a do or die game because he felt tired after throwing a combined 92 pitches in 8 days.

Not something I'd ever expect to read in a biography about Orel, Koufax, or even the "choker" Kershaw.

I hate Roberts as much as the next guy but I don't blame him for the Scherzer situation.

    Urias on the other hand...

Roberts pretty much admitted in a recent interview that his use of Scherzer in relief in game 5 could have had an effect in the Braves series.

I am not as mad about the Scherzer situation as I am mad about his abuse of Urias and his general ineptitude in regards to SP and relief pitching strategy.

I'm hoping they implement the DH and Arenado Ops out.

Unfortunately, there’s little chance they don’t keep Roberts. Not because of the certain racial backlash from liberal ambulance chasers, but because he’s the perfect yes man for the job. Kapler would have fought them, which is why he didn’t get the job in the first place. Yeah, no way they’ll let their lapdog walk.

    dodgers nation…
    • If Chris Taylor leaves, who will take on that super-utility role? The Dodgers already let go of Kiké Hernandez last offseason and doing so again with Taylor will leave a huge hole. Plenty of players on the roster can play multiple positions, yet no one can do it as well as CT3. The Dodgers can’t afford to lose another postseason legend.

    • Andrew Friedman says decisions to use Max Scherzer and Julio Urías as relievers were made by Dodgers manager Dave Roberts and his staff.

In regards to CT I think it would be smart to come in first and aggressive with an offer that says we want you

Really glad Friedman separated himself from Roberts on those atrocious decisions. Too bad the only way to fire Roberts without public backlash would be to replace him with an African American Transgender liberal.

Don't know about a III, but Al's son Jimmy was a short timer with the Dodgers. Looks like he swung a fork better than he swung a bat.
